Campro 1.3 upgrade to Campro 1.6

or maybe i could recommend a technician for the job.. familiar with campro engine,does the things according to manual book.
 
Wow didn't know this is possible. What a good hack. Like overclocking your car! Just keep the 1.3L pistons and go high compression saja, throw in h2o+meth injection to suppress detonation.

1.6L high compression campro monster. Sounds good.
 
hi bro. i decide to upgrade my 1.3 to 1.6. any recommended workshop that can be trusted ?

one more thing..u also have to change the injector n if not ur engine will knocking/pinging..because 1.3 injector is not the SAME with 1.6..buy a piggyback to tune it..my friend send his car to GCC in PJ..
 
Sorry to bring this tread back.i am assisting a friend whom is hell bent on doing this upgrade.
i understand to go from 1.3 to 1.6,only the stroker kit needs to be change.his mech quoted rm 2000-2300 for the job.kinda cheap right?
Need someone to shed some light in this matter.

currently his engine is all stock except for 4-2-1 extractor.gb is manual.For RM2000,what bolt on part can be installed?
I am looking at;
-camshaft
-pulley
-others?

He is not going for outright power and i wont encourage him so as he is still new and once oversteer the car which nearly hit by an oncoming car.

Huh? Whats engine upgrade gotta do with oversteer?

Uh.. ok I'm not going to respond to the oversteer part. But for the 1.3 to 1.6 upgrade, you need the injectors and ECU I should suspect. Probably can do without ECU for now and just monitor whether it runs lean or not.

if thats so, Saga and Persona group in Lowyat Forum has a few people did it.

I don't see a point in Persona's doing it. Personas are 1.6 right? I know a certain person in this forum who's done it. He won't openly admit it though.

Wira stroke has the option of using campro camshaft + cps pistons. But the campro camshaft isn't too sturdy for Wira usage. Hence the talk of using 4G18 camshaft instead. As for pistons I honestly don't know. I tell the spare parts shop fella "77mm CPS pistons" and he gives me the stock. I don't ask for 1.3 or 1.6 pistons.

The 1.3 piston is taller than the 1.6 so if you want a high comp 1.6 retain the 1.3 piston and mix with 1.6 conrod and take the crank from CPS This setup you IINM you can only run high ron fuel. The other you can do is swap in the 1.6 parts including the piston. I have friends who's running 1.6 internal and running full standalone on his BLM. Piggyback cannot use on BLM one the factory ECU is lock and it will overwrite the piggyback mapping when you off and restart back the car.

Or he can just go hunt for CPS and swap it in. The block on CPS is the same. Is the cylinder head different and the intake system different.

He can choose to retain the 1.3 internal and mod the bolt on parts. Power wise I think should be ok. If the car is not broken don't fix it.

Cylinder Bore on 1.3 and 1.6 is the same at 76mm, stroke on 1.3 is 73.6mm and 1.6 is 88mm.

Thanks brother TR, means same as some older engines like Ford 1.3 and 1.6. Piston are the same, only the crank stroke is longer for larger displacement.

i was once quoted rm2500, at a work shop in PJ. He said just standby rm2500 max, it can be lower
