Its a bit silly to ask, but just for curiousity sake....

Do engine oil has got expiry date?

Sometimes when promo, are they clearing the old stock?:confused:

i think no if its not open, but im not really sure

but the oil is quite new, 16 august 2012

maybe can sell it off to other ppl if unable to use all the oils.

Wait price go up then make profit.....

Yup, that day saw the Tesco own brand oil (the SS one) selling now for RM85, used to be RM56 and on offer, like RM49 only.....:banghead:

i usually go for castrol magnatec 4L & surprisingly they do sell 1L as well, & great becos i need 5L.
sparepart shops dun sell 1L.

recently Tesco selling not only Shell but also Castrol, Total and Mobil1 full synthetic at RM145.00
I have asked Shell Trading Malaysia and they claimed that these engine oil has no warranty from them but I don't know what kind of warranty are they talking about.

To me, oil are the same, only different is the addictive but I think if usable in Europe then should be fine. The most important is the viscosity, malaysia weather any W30/W40 would be safe to use. I don't really care about the number infront, 0W or 5W doesn't makes any different to Malaysia.

Over a week ago I bought Mobil 3000 X1 5w40 FS at Tesco, only rm119/5ltr! They have other oils on promotion also but this one has the biggest discount.

Yup, so far the cheapest FS and 5L some more.....

I got Mitsu FS 5w-40 at RM90 for 4L at Aeon. Usually selling at RM119 but that day offer....

I bought Total eneo MC3 5w40 semi syn for my Waja not too long ago.
Its super cheap for a semi syn oil, and what more is that it comes in 5l package so I actually save more because I don't have to buy 2 4l pack as my waja engine require more than 4l.
How cheap?
RM 79 only. Last week go to Tesco and price back up to RM 139.

My BLM is using Tesco brand FS oil and I must say I am impressed by the oil. Last time was RM 89.
Recently I change the valve cover gasket and at that time the oil has been used for 6k km.
Just from the cam area I can say that the oil is still clean and no sludge on the area at all.

Another new info to share is that I saw Aisin engine oil and ATF being sold at spare part shop. I think its already a month.
From the packaging, it seems to be imported directly from Japan.
Their 20W50 grade is semi syn.
What caught my eye is they do sell in small barrel of 20l. Price on the barrel is RM 300. I think its lesser than that as all price for all item at spare part shop
are lower from the sticker price by a huge margin. I am eyeing the 15w40 semi syn barrel. Can use on all car in the garage.

Oh! 5w-40 SS oil, usually 5w-40 comes as FS. I bought Total Quartz 7000 SS 10w-40 from Tesco too at their super promo price of RM69.90 for 5L. Now all back to RM100 plus too, and when promo price around RM80 plus, more at RM69.90

Warranty for oils these days cover engine failure due to oil lubrication or whatever. Imported oils such as those sold by Tesco are Euro blend and all. Unless Tesco is selling recycled oil, using those oils won't damage anything la. Just probably shorter OCI only.

Tesco is MNC, they buy bulk from EU and sell cheap here. Since cheaper, shorter OCI is good, cleaner engine.....

Last time RM69.90 for 5L btl Total 10w40, i stock up 6 btl.

Wah! more than me, I stock 4 only...

or,they know most of us hard driving kaki and drives 4 cyl car.
so 30 not suitable....

50 is almost goneand now 40 dominate market.
30 is steadily being used in newer modern engine, even turbocharged engine.i know
this cause my friend pug are recommended to run on that grade of oil.
