Need advice: 4g93 SOHC auto 'semput'

Indeed yes it is up to you.

In fact i just had my engine rebuilt recently, my mech was saying there are not break in required if the mechanic knew how to assemble an engine. Well i am no where to judge that is right or not, but i did ran the first 2k mileage with mid range rpm.

An interesting read if you would :

Thanks for the input, regarding that article I've read it before that's why I'm not too sure how "legit" is that... will I face issues like new bearing failure/scoring due to hard break in method? I'm afraid I might not do the hard break in properly and the engine is good as gone..

Better do normal break in then. Break in is to let the two moving surface wear into each other. Some places may be tighter that is why they call break in or run in. Some even recommend no FS oil, use SS oil to break in first then only switch to FS if needed....

i always use that hard break-in method.... and seems better too... especially on freshly built race bike engine.... (when the engine just assembled on sunday morning and racing on the afternoon)
mind giving some idea/tips on how to hard break in properly? i heard that have to go through the gears with high load?

I guess i'll do the normal break most probably.. I dont trust myself hahahaha is it okay if i use mineral for the first 1k? afterwards maybe switch back to semi or fully

If you like the steering then can try to mod, but if difficult might as well change to one that fits.....:smokin:

I do like it. Gonna try work on it later. I think I need to modify the brass ring so that it'll hit the brass pin. Will take some pictures if I have the time and patience. :driver:

Mineral is fine......

Done mod and install steering wheel!

BTW, i took a photo of my ECU. Can this one be flash?

Nope, this one can't be remapped
It should have a big letter E at the bottom right for it to be rechipped

But I think some of them can do like increase rev cut and etc. Does yours have a speed cut?

I think it does. Never got pass 180km/h before. RPM sticks at 6.5 (full is 8) and speed just maintain at 170-175km/h. Can't go more than that. :bawling:

Check this link for more info
Those ECUs mentioned are with EEPROM (can be rechip/remap)

Can't find my ECU code there. Need to source for other ECU if I wanna do remap?

EDIT: I think I took the wrong photo. There's supposed to be another label sticker on top right? I can't get my hands in there. Need to remove the dash side speaker.

For rev cut, don't really bother on that to be honest however you can eliminate the speed cut with devices such as the PIVOT Speed meter V :)
I am using that too for my ride. My ECU still stock standard without any rechip too although mine can be done

Ahaa.. Piggyback is the way then. Don't think I have the budget for that in the near future. Haha. Don't think I can handle 240km/h on Malaysia highways.

Your car won't reach 240km/h, might hit max around 210km/h - 220km/h, limit already due to aerodynamics

Yup, use Speed Meter V then use piggyback like E-manage Blue to fine tune Ignition and AFR
Of course go full standalone the best

too fast for me.. haha! i rarely got above 140km/h unless i need to. but good tips tho. need to get my budget ready for top overhaul and pnp at the moment.

Speed cut does not mean cannot reach the speed. It will reach the speed cut speed and then the engine will shut down. Mine reach 190kph then engine shut down, the moment it goes below 190 engine start back....
I was given a speed limit defencer but I did not fit it to my ECU as 190 good enough for me.....lol

My original ECU was for 200bhp VR4, then when that ECU got damaged I managed to buy the 220bhp ECU that can add chip but left it standard....There is another one for the RS which is 240bhp but my engine cannot use that ECU....:smokin:

Isn't that dangerous having the engine shut down at high speed? I thought it's just gonna drag your car at the speed limit and the car can't go more than the limit set?:hmmmm:

Shut down so cannot go any faster and switches back on one is below that speed. At that speed you will be going straight so not really dangerous. I tried it twice at road going to LCCT, but those days LCCT not open yet so no traffic.....lol:biggrin:

Oh.. I always use that road going back to my hometown. Hehe.
