last 2 days, been DIY proton wira battery relocation. After replace very old stock intercooler piping, battery just wont fit nicely inside engine bay. Bonnet wont close perfectly.

Need welding cable, prefer 99.99% copper. Get from hardware shop.
+ some ring terminals for connections. Antenna cable.
Those orange color welding cable i checked, is copper plating.
Orange color cable cost 7.50/meter.
Those black cable cost me 25 bucks/meter. Fuhh...

Failure the 1st time when drill tiny test hole at firewall. luckily no damage done.
Steering out, dash meter taken out, just cant figure out how to run the cable.
After googling, only found out driver side fender mud guard have cable entry.

Disconnect batter terminals, before start any work. Start with Negative then positive terminals.

Dismantle driver side fender mud guard (daun pisang), instantly i can see the cables rubber grommet.

Just make tiny cut at the rubber. To insert guide cable (antenna cable).
Need some patient and tiny luck. Once the guide cable is through, everything will come easily.

Need astro/antenna cable as a guide to pull through the welding cable. Joint welding cable and antenna cable core. Wrap tightly with electrical tape. Slowly pull.

There's a big way for cable to engine bay. No worries.

Run the cable until boot. Prepare ring terminals, clamp it tightly to welding cable.
use electrical tape to cover expose clamp. Best, use heat shrink tube too.

Last picture is grounding.

Finally battery connection, connect positive terminals 1st. And then connect negative terminals, will see tiny sparks. Should be OK.
Apa lagi, key in, ON, all light OK. Crank the engine.
If nothing/blank when key in - ON. Sakit kepala....:banghead:

I test drive, can see the battery indicate 13.5-13.9V all the time. Alternator is charging.
Aircon full blast, car light on. Train ECU again...haizzzz
Will test for few days. If all ok, will hide the cable nicely.

Just my 3rd DIY for "car". Dont flame too much lah. :nurse:

Wah! Looks like a lot of work.
2 questions:
1) Why not clamp the wires direct onto battery terminal
2) How you clamp the battery down?

Battery terminals too big....thats why use ring to connect.
Battery yet to clamp. Still testing period....hehehe.
Give me another 2 days. Will clamp it down.
And hide the cable. Now everything is expose.

Okay, noted......:driver:

sorry to ask, usually there will be a secure area for battery relocation, something like a cage etc..

I also thinking of relocating the battery to the rear..
but was told the copper cable gonna cost..

how long the black cables..for both terminals?
nice diy:proud:

ehh ur battery is just sitting like that? better hold it secure

Ya, will secure it....testing the performance.
If satisfy will do it in couple of days.
Still have spare car BTW. Hehehe...

Fuhhh good stuff there bro. What spec? Road-Touge? What's the spring rate you're running?

Road comfort specs. F6k, R4k spring rate. Just nice for wira weight.

hmm should consider doing it myself.... engine bay isnt exactly roomy....

His is because he mod engine bay with piping, no place for battery. If your engine bay can accommodate the battery leave it there, or you can do a heat shield for the battery

is the route nice?

Got to ask bro. sweelt, since he is from Penang I just post balik pulau.......lol

Balik pulau road nice....mid way can stop at big water reservoir...
Feel planted, and I not kaki corner....but once a while hantam also. Ftuned price also not bad.
I ask halfcut for tein, 3.5 - 4k. Walao...plus service, big hole on wallet.
Actual is spring rate....if have correct rate, will be easy on the shocks.
One thing, always play with dampening setting.
Crawl loh...Ftuned using inverted monotube.
Again, I should join ZTH earlier.... Hahahaha..
