Recently I just change my 15 inch wheels to 17 inch just foor the kick of it (I have tried 16 inch before and now just to get the feeling of using the bigger rim)

Now the first problem is you have to change the shocks to adjustbale since the original absorber is to low to accomodate the new wheels in the wheel arch. So you need to raise it a bit high.

Next is that you compromise the acceleration, though the B16A is powoerful with the 170HP plus but at the low rpm you don't have that power and your acceleration just not there. The momentum is good though which means top end is good.

Now my ride looks nice with the new set of wheels but the performance suffer. I consult with my friends and there say it is not practical to use the 17 inch on the civic which I very much agree.

Sometime I just want to go for the 15 inch rims again and I feel like stupid for even trying to change it in the first place. Now the question what is your opinion regarding my situation.

Thanks all.

Thanks bro!

yeah ! I also think the same ! maybe 16 inch is ok to compromise both situation! I have used it before and seems to be good for both ..

anyway... 15" tyres cost a lot less than 16" or 17" ones. really miss my 15" but they are too small for my car :)

the answer should be the same for me...

thanks for the support dude....:_:

i agreed to all...since 16" is ligher than 17" thus will still be able to give performance in terms stability, top end and the looks.

with 17" u might even suffer higher consumption during low rpm...and that's often in the city rite...hehe anyways, for luxury purposes that would be 17"

props!

since you already change to biggers rims, just use 40 or 35 tire which will maintain the same size like 15"
example used to i use eg9 with 15 inc 195/50/15
to increase your rims, you can use 215/40/17. it will be the same size,
but, weight of the rim, is depends what rims you bought.
i'm using tanabe on my eg9, super low, no problem with that size.
just my 2 cent

for me, with a b16a, 16" would be the highest i would go.
unless im going for super light weight wheels :D

but anyway, since you have already got the wheels, just get a bodykit and slam the car, haha.

One question.. no fender rubs with 17" wheels?

One set of VR CE28s 16" +42 offset has inner fender rubs already at full lock.. 17" has no issues? What kind of offsets are you running?

For me, 15" are the best.. whack pothole, small drains, ditches and etc.. no heartache and no bent rims.. :P

Of course, there might be some people into the bling2 look, so which is why I'm asking how you solve the inner fender rub at full steering lock problem.
