Lightened flywheel disaster

Why you should never lighten a flywheel... check out the pics of this skyline.

That's very untrue about lighten flywheel, except those DIY one......

Manufacturer lightened (Usualy chromoly) = OK.
Ah Kow workshop skimming/grinding lightening = No OK. OEM Flywheel is Cast Iron. Hence removing layers of materials from it greatly reduces its durability and resistance against heat. That leads to cracking. On a severe side, it would become just like that R33 :)

Yeap, I should have titled it, 'why u should never machine or modify a stock or after-market flywheel to lighten it and sidestep the clutch at redline'. I need to be more specific next time.. :)

Is aftermarket flywheel suppose to match with the clutch kit that it came with as a set? How much are you selling them for?
