VR4 220 to upgrade to +-300 whp

All bro's and sifu's,

I bought a satria with VR4 220 hp engine recently. Currently still running stock VR4 which is bit underpower for me. Plan to upgrade the engine till it generates +-300 hp on wheel. What is the basic upgrades with a budget of 10k? Need you guys to help me!! :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
 
what i would do:
metal gasket, 560cc evo6 injectors, exedy 3 puck semi race clutch, hks272 cams, send to hybrid 20g fins by tong turbo, tial 38mm wastegate, infinite intercooler, walbro fuel pump, sard regulator, evo airflow, tune using safc/emanage, decent boost controller. sure can get 300whp.

i think he mentioned bout 1.5mm..

injector is plug n play no modification needed upon installation however wat u need to modify is your afr..

td05 hybrid rm1000(are you sure?last time done it cost about 1.2k),infinite intercooler rm600(what about da piping?still cost about rm100-200 to convert piping),emanage +tune rm1100(why use e-mnage as there is alternative low cost as 5 button afc unless wnt to control ignition but still must add unless rm100 to buy ignition harness..),how about da labour charge to fine tune da cams?how much it will cost da owner?i damm sure all this will be over 10k...:banghead:

i would follow khoyos foot step, its proven, and its for sure, why ? cos those were our footsteps sometime ago

bro, that is what i did bro. from my PERSONAL experience, using similar mods on my car. i ran same setup, only difference is that i was using megasquirt ecu n hks 264 cams instead of emanage n 272 cams...

the following are recent events after i sold my car, just to be up-to-date with current prices cos i no longer use vr4 engine. sold my car early last year to move on n step up the ladder.
-went to tong n did my fren's td05 turbo, memang 1k(now change front n back wheel last time front only).
-bought an e-manage for my fren, bought from zth forummer rm650 with ignition harness (nego kaw kaw) n tuning+install rm150 so actually total rm800 only.
-not necessarily all items buy new but fuel pump, regulator, clutch MUST buy new


thats why i said do 1 shot, will be cheaper. for example, instead of angkat head when installing metal gasket, n turun gearbox when installing clutch, why not remove the engine n change everything on a workbench or on the floor, to allow easy change of clutch, cams, injectors, wastegate etc and re-install the engine as a completed installed unit. total rm800 i think to remove engine n install back those items. plus installing the items on a workbench is much better n less prone to MISTAKES instead of doing it in the car. then the balance rm200 of workmanship budget can be used to re-do piping. at 1st stage no need to use all those bling2 stainless steel n samco in order to stay on budget. next time when got extra money only do.

-it may exceed 10k in the end but who cares, cos trust me, the result will be tremendous! especially the cams!

1 more thing. the power of hks cams. no need adjust also can. use stock pulley enough hehee
 
wow.......sounds interesting with all that parts on my engine. budget around 10k but i don mind if exceed few thousands. thanks for all sifu's recommendation. below is the junk that i bought for 13k 1.6 body yr 98, lol!!

spuzzle: looks like u got ur work cut out already. no need to change intercooler cos evo intercooler very good n can support ur 300whp target easily. can remove intercooler from the list. but it looks like there's a fuel pump in the engine bay, REMOVE THAT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! use 1 in-tank walbro enough already.

as u said, i will remove that merc fuel pump immediately cause many told me that it is dangerous with fuel pump on engine bay. after getting all parts ready, then i wil start my project. bought this car and driven it for 1 day only before i came to work overseas. have any parts left to sell to me? hehe
 
all of the above mods will take you there..my advice is make sure you standby some budget for unexpected problem/parts during upgrade.....

agree. for example ur plugs need to change, fuel filter, who knows when installing metal gasket found out that ur valve seal need to change or grind valve, maybe timing belt already worn out. lots of things that are not planned...
