for all those still wondering, search for tyre topics, the 55 series refers to tyre profile ratio. meaning if the tyre is 195/55R15 then it means the side profile is 55% of tyre width.

example for popular 16" tyres sizes in Malaysia.

1. 205/45 R16 - used by satria GTI, WiSE as OEM - tyre is thinner compare to 55 series, very poor ride but better handling.
2. 205/55 R16 - used by perdana V6 as OEM - tyre is thicker, more comfy ride.

btw, JRD rims used by protons as OEM are actually quite heavy compare to after market ENKEI or BSA.

Yes the aftermarket rims and good 16" tyres makes our ride more comfy and also our wallet much much lighter too.... ;-)

from personal experience...
and poor ride means that it can never be comfortable, becoz thats the compromise...

however, this also depends on whether our suspension setting stiff or not, car seat super comfy or not and also our buttocks...whether thin or marshmellow like... :lol:

one more thing..got potholes or not..becos thinner tyre means ur rim have less cushion from holes and bumps on the road..so consider that also since we live here in a country were the roadworks never finish..

yup.i also think that 16" wheels is less comfort and you can feel something when you hit any patholes..feeling something hit the rim..and you go *arrgghh*
