alamakzzz.... bcoz of cover!?

erm... wad cc?
the engine model lee... u know?
got pics?

Well, some people like that high-revving nature ala VTEC and MIVEC and the distinctive sound of the cam switch-over. But some people just want a leisurely drive and cruise at lower RPMs. That's where the 4G93 DOHC is good.

Is it possible to fit a Mivec Head onto a 1.8 GSR engine block? Just wanna know because I heard people talking about Mivec Turbo a few months back. Found out that JUN also have cams & adjustable pulleys for 4G92. What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2? How many horses can be expected from a Mivec Turbo engine if it has JUN cams & adjustable pulleys? Lastly, is it reliable to do so.

Adjustable pulleys are a must when combined with cams. This is to fine tune the cam timing adjustment to suit your other mods such as exhaust and intake. They are reliable but require some checking from time to time, as the settings tend to stray after awhile.

1.8 GSR with Jun cams? Don't forget to use strenghtened valve springs too! Estimated power at crank would be above 250bhp. So when are you gonna start on the project?

Not sure when to start the project because of the costs. JUN cams, valve springs and pulleys alone cost more than the Mivec Head. To do a project like this would cost more than 10k. For this kind of mod you really need a programmable engine management system.

Forgotten the BHP, but blacktop BHP higher than the silvertop.
Both 1600cc.

Yea, one thing nice about silvertop is the engine cover.

Many pp say 4g93 r more power den Mivec..if compare stock to stock ,4g93 no where can win over Mivec in the sense pick up n top speed..if u r driving a Mivec machine den u will noe when mivec can win over 4g93..(stock to stock)..we do a lot of experiment edi..if u say about car chasis o weight, we have try wira(mivec rs) n satria Gti (earliest verison bcoz ecu is more power full den new wan) in pick up and top speed

tis all is mivec n 4g93 info...

hmm... but i see mostly m/t cars change engine wo...
auto cars i seldom see ppl change engine...
so is it recommended for auto cars change to mivec engines?
whats the fc and performance?

No way a 4G93P is more powerful than a 4G92 MIVEC. But sometimes have to look at the overall torque/hp curve before judging, rather than just taking peak figures.

Anyway, MMC had a good chance to create a 4G93 MIVEC...would've sold so much. But instead they were more interested in their blardy Evos. Even the new Colt Ralliart can't hold a candle to the GTi in terms of overall ability.

maybe someone should come up with a summary thread i am sure i have read about mivec vs gsr vs 4g93 non turbo somewhere on this website ... beats answering the same questions all the time no? :secruity:

put to it mildly if you are gonna swap engines why swap for auto if you are planning to race or drive hard? you will just lose more power due to drivetrain and you wont be able to launch unless you want to ruin your automagic gearbox by dropping from neutral. so far the only car i know that does better as an auto than a manual is the supra (only in drag races). if you want you can look it up on www.honda-tech.com the kills thread they post a lot of vids there.

plus 'frankensteining' your engine (adding mivec heads) is supposedly not such a great idea apparently lots of people run into fc problems due to poor tuning. so you if you are gonna to do it find yourself a car nerd and get him to do it right :P

guys, anybody heard of MIVEC MD? i was told that the FC is very low. anybody can confirm this? and it seems like ppl seldom talk about this MD.

MD = Modular Displacement & MD is Mitsubishi's cylinder deactivation system which helps improve fuel consumption. MD is cheaper too! =)

just asking,
the md mivec, can we adjust the point where the engine switch frm 2 to
4 cylinder.
n can mivec md be rojak'ed with gsr block?
hav anyone done this?
and is there any better g/box to match the mivec coz i heard the g/box ratio not so nice fr mivec specially 3rd gear n above.
izzit true?
thanx

emm my question i the mivec halfcut cum wit LSD gearbox right? and wat is the LSD gearbox used??

it's called limited slip differential. the main idea is to enable different wheel speed between the ur left and right wheel when cornering. let's say you are turning left, ur left wheel will travel less distance compared to the outer right wheel. Since they must finish the corner at the same time, the outer right wheel must turn faster than the inner left wheel. LSD does this work.and when ur left wheel experiece less traction than right wheel, for example ur left wheel is on a puddle of oil, the traction will be transferred to the right wheel, which has more tractoin.

true i drive 1.8dohc for 3 month then change back to mivec auto i feel mivec abit powerful den 1.8 my experience laa

I drive both in Satria chasis. Conclusion is : Mivec is more powerful compare with 4G92DOHC & 4G93 DOHC.in stock:love:

Really?. Both pickup & highway speeds? I'd love to see a practical experiment on this. Any volunteers?

4g92 mivec = RM8K
4g93 DOHC = RM5k

correct ar?
