1st. you've got the concept totally wrong. Twinturbo doesnt means faster. Furthermore should your Perdana is Sei model, thn u make the 2nd mistake that Vr4 engine mounting suits more thn 6A12

normality78: can u tell me vr4 how many hp and 6A12 how many hp?

bro, take into considerations and venture into the Proton/Perodua forums..there u shud get sum good info tho..but try asking all the Perdana converted 6A12 twin turbo owners out there do they have problems with the autogearbox after sumtime (gear wont change or stuck at at that particular gear n revving high)..i believe they do, even till today, the normal Perdana auto gearbox are not up for it..as for going turbo, its advisable to change every 3,000km...if u going to Eneos for ur regualr oil change, shud cost u more than rm80 for the semi-syn engine oil n filter...all this depends on the nature of usage of ur car, if u r not the type who is not on the go then, fine..go ahead, another option but a bit expensive will be the FTO 6A12 Mivec which gives quite decent power on the Perdana chasis n u get to play wif its Tiptronic gearbox too...hoped i help

speedydemonz: i heard of the problem reving high and stuck at that particular gear b4,if i convert it,i will choose to using manual gear box.
thanks for the service pricing info,i prefer turbo,as im not interested with mivec.
thanks a lot~ B)

VR4 is 220bhp and 6A12TT is 200bhp. u got to take in consideration of manual tranny vs auto tranny. 4-inline engine respond and V6 engine respond, and the engine characteristic. both are 2.0l engine and pls dun think its becoz twin turbo means its faster. for your info, the 6A12TT turbin is as small as TD025 only.

oh,thanks for ur info.
but i still prefer 6A12.

Perdana SEi's stock engine is using 4G63 block, ain't it? So mounting-wise, I think normality78 is correct, VR4 is a more direct swap if compared to Eterna TT.

Pickup, go for inline-4. Top end, go for V6.

And twin doesn't necessarily mean faster. I oso agree with that. I'm sure a lot of people are aware about the twin-to-single turbo conversions done to RX7s, Supras, etc.

But there's not much road in Malaysia where you can showoff your top speed (balik kampung, once a year perhaps?), but pickup? Almost everywhere, anytime. Spending 7-8k of your hard-earned money is not cheap, so why not you showoff a li'l? Don't shoot me.

haha, not wan to show off la.
since small so desire for turbo car,so now oledi able then must make my dream comes true.
:P

guys...

some info here....

1994 6A12 TT manual 5 speed = 240PS (308.91 N*m) / 3500 rpm
1994 6A12 TT Auto 4 A/T (Fuzzy Logic) = 215PS (308.91 N*m) / 3500 rpm
1989 4G63 T manual 5 speed = 220PS (294.20 N*m) / 3500 rpm
1990 4G63 T (RS) manual 5 speed = 240PS (304.01 N*m) / 3500 rpm

it's depend how your driving style... if u wanna more responds engine... go for inline.
ask for me.... big torque better for heavier cars.... example... Perdana V6 or SEi.....
correct me if im wrong.... tq... B)

eterna2772:
i agree with u,heavier car need big torque. :D

the sound of 6a12TT damn nice man... :P
but for racer more prefer 4g63 lar, much more faster than 6a12TT.
my friends try already, both mod turbo and many things, but still 4g63 rules... :D
maybe 6a12 too heavy...
if for speed, go for 4g63.
but for engine sound, sure 6a12TT

and for servicing, oil filter charge rm20+/-, semi syth oil(4lit) rm 70+/- (for 4g63 4lit enought lar, for 6a12 maybe need more...), workmanship rm20+/-, need to service every 5000km, better every 3000km...

if you use back factory setting(means original boost, bla bla ba...), engine wont kacau much. wont easy to get problem one...

cheers~~ :D :D
