Sorry i am new to 3S engine. Have some questions regarding st185 and st185RC, seeking for your kind advice.

Does both of the engine share similar engine head, piston, conrod and block? I heard st185RC's internal is stronger compare to st185. But is it necessary to strenghten it just to cater for the additional 10 horses?

If i want to run RC's ECU in normal 3S-GTE engine and wiring, what are the important things that i need to pay attention to in order to make the engine run like RC's power?

Note that normal 3S-GTE's ECU has exactly similar pin out compare to RC's ECU. So it will not have any "kaboom" risk if running RC's ECU into it.

u mean the driveshaft from your h/c izzit can use into the corona st170/171 3s-fe or the " dunno what type " gearbox,rite?

i dunno it can be use or not but i know it can be use into the mr2 g/box... :)
better get one mr2 g/box with LSD... :rolleyes:
for me i used back the flywheel clutch n cover from my h/cut... :)

IS there any MR2 gearbox for sale? cant tahan the slip la... really wanna test the full power..

actually how much is the gearbox nowadays? whuts the price range?
 
i dun think the halfcut shaft would plug and play. its running a 4wd box and the driveshafts are quite shorter than the normal shafts for FWD setup.

a guy in Oz used a 3sge gearbox from a st202 (NA Celica with LSD). then matched it with a Levin 101 supercharged driveshafts. he had to modify the knuckle to fit in the different sized driveshaft ends.

before that you shud check whether your chasis have enuff space for this driverain or not. secondly, compatibility of the st171 driveshaft to your brakes. thirdly, check the g/b bellhousing to engine.

no worries of the stock st171 driveshaft, it lasted me 3 yrs of torture :D

dun haf. guess it's for i/c water temp. u can sumbat a probe wif temp gauge into it :lol:

the corona shaft shud have 21 gigi on the end. if you upgrade your brakes to st185 twin port then shud be alrite, anyway count those on the celica brakes too :D

i'm still sceptical bout the shaft length, coz ur car is so rare, else wud need fabricate the shaft d. keke
 
i have that lobang... i oso dunno wat for... can see that it can be opened by an alan key.. but never opened it b4.

where's the i/c water pump? cant seem to identify the bugger. wanna check whether its just the coolant, or the water pump. a guy told me it cud be coolant level thats triggering code 54.

How's ur guys opinion on this 3sgteRC power capability ?? can tapau the mitsu machine or not !!! plan to get at least 300hp

any idea??

jahd try open it up and see what it is. the i/c pump shud be around g/b area. else, follow ur i/c coolant pipes, sure can locate d :lol:

- basic requirements are bigger injectors or additional injectors, bigger fuel pump
1) fuel cut defencer(FCD), inj. controller, fuel controller and boost controller or
2) piggyback ecu and boost controller or
3) standalone ecu

How's ur guys opinion on this 3sgteRC power capability ?? can tapau the mitsu machine or not !!! plan to get at least 300hp
- 1.1bar of boost can get u around 300ps on crank wif CT26

if let's say i have done this step
1) fuel regulater
2) Fuel pump -borsch
3) Aftermarket ECU

what the next step that i could consider!!!!

- Just imagine where can I get the st171 3efe gearbox .. coz now i have already 1 set of Tom's cluch plate with preassure and flywheel ..
 
rona,

injector upgrade bro.. 440cc kenot cope... try 540cc side feed supra TT injectors.. those are drop in.. no mods needed
