Then how on earth is Keiichi going to be able to pick drivers from around the region here to go to D1 Grand Prix USA then?

no idea man, this wan is AAM doing, as the event is a club event not open or international claisfication.

If not wrong you guys were called up about it, weren't you

Ya, we were called up about it. In the first place, we were invited and asked to take part. Now, as the rounds progress, we're told of these weird rules being added.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to the Drag Battle.
Only Malaysians or people with malaysian work permit are allowed to take part since it is only a club level event EVEN if your club is an international club.

If not, you might have to make the event Zone International to allow them to participate (and therefore require racing license)

my 2¢

chromas,

well it is as said a club event thus making it an international event all must have race license as well as full fia equip if u follow race regs.

It has always been that way just not told to drivers.

and you would need to have a letter from ur countries license issuing it for consent to join ovversea event as well....big hassle

Driftcraze,

Yes, I understand that it makes things easier on everyone that it is held at a club level, thus making it such that we all don't require race licences and stuff.

What I meant earlier was that, for the D1GP-MY series, we were all given an opportunity to participate without the restrictions such as work permits, etc.

The only thing we knew was that as the rounds progressed, certain aspect of the car and driver had to be improved, eg. roll-cage, NOMEX race suits, etc.

All those seriously into the D1GP-MY went on to make preparations for all these.

But what we did not expect was the request now for items such as work permits.

guess they were not prepared for it or knew there were such regulation maybe....

well hope the regulation can be relaxed for this year to end.

so this meaning that the 3 driver from the top 3 at the end of d1gp-my require race licenses, while car and driver is equipped with FIA approved item/material to participate in the showdown at Irwindale?

Actually, no. Work-permit stuff is actually requirement of AAM not FIA. Since AAM controls the motorsports in Malaysia, they can impose their rules.

To race overseas officially, all we need is a letter from AAM stating that we are able to participate in the foreign race.

but if D1 world series in Irwindale doesn't require any license/FIA permit, etc, then no problem. It's all up to the organizers of each event.

there has been many uncertainties over rules & regulations for D1 GP malaysia, they change like the weather and the core of it has been adopted from drag battle at sepang
