Hi All,

As we all know there's lots of different alarm systems and also immoblisers or tracking systems, or in Captor's case tracking & recovery.
I work for Captor, and was wondering what the feedback is from you guys about it? What have you heard/know etc. Read a lot of bullshit in here about various sytems, true and not true. So if I can I'll give you some facts to counter that ;-)

I heard the recovery rate is 92% to 94%. Thief is still smarter right?

captor is still in Cheras errr....Ampang right?
Whats the stat on recovery and the crime rate nowadays?

Hi All,

Yes, Captor is very much alive and well ;-)
New office in Gombak near Batu Caves side.
Recovery rate is still above 90% in total.
Crime rate seems to have gone up, and more organised nowadays compared to before.

What are Captor's Strengths?
- Mature tried and tested product. Based on systems which have been in use for many years overseas in countries which have legal requirements for fitting tracking systems in all the vehicles.
- Recovery rate is over 90%, chances of recovering vehicles very good, though not guaranteed of course ;-)
- Proprietary technology for tracking & recovering. No other product has anything near to this.
- Experience. Many years of experience.
- Strong ties with the authorities & good connections.
- Recovery teams throughout Peninsular Malaysia, plus air coverage, run by Captor directly.
- Ability to track vehicles even if in basements etc via ground recovery teams.
- Low yearly fee.
May be others but I can't think of more for the time being ;-)

We use RF technology for tracking, but in the interests of security, I can't reveal what freqs or encryption we use. However our basic system does not use GSM.
We have GPS/GSM systems with/without RF.
Pics? Errr... unfortunately not, we're a bit paranoid about security, so no pics of the actual products.
Can give you descriptions, but basically it's just a box or couple of small boxes, about the size of ..errr..... a smallish desktop speaker? maybe not as thick.

i think you know my housemate razif.. he works there, but still i thinh captor is among the best car security.. from his story la...

peter, how much it cost to install captor?
pm me:)
heard that after insttalation, only pay for battery replacement cost which is every year need to change..correct me if im wrong

Hi Bro,

Backup battery replacement is about every 1.5 to 2 years.
Yearly fee is the only onther thing to pay ;-)
Spykey, you got PM bro ;-)
And YES, we STILL are the best in recovery!!

Heard tt Captor failed to recover 1 stolen hilux in Muar & driven to S'pore.S'pore authorities caught tt bastard. Is it true?

Not quite true.
Captor detected the vehicle travelling towards the causeway 2nd link, then immobilised it. SG authorities helped us recover the vehicle since captor could not pass the immigration. Dunno if the thief was ever caught, cos they abandoned the vehicle.

1) I understand that we can keep the current alarm system. But does that means we have to carry two remotes, one for the current alarm and one for the captor?? Can we just use our current remote to activate both system at the same time, maybe by tapping some wire from the current alarm system to activate the captor?

2) Does the price displayed on your web, nestar.com.my is still valid. It says for non-proton, it's rm2100 and installation is free if done at your HQ. If its free, then, where is your HQ. I believe, driving there is still much cheaper than paying for installation fees.

3) Everytime I received a warning call from captor, I'm also being charge. Is that correct?

Please answer. Thanks.

Hi Zeese5,

1) It depends on the system your vehicle uses for the alarm. If it is compatible, then yes, an additional linkage can be installed for a fee to link both systems together.

2) The price is accurate bar promos and special rates for affiliated schemes via banks and insurance. HQ is in Batu CAves area, map is on the website.

3) What you're referring to seems to be a gsm system where you get sms alerts. The basic system does not have that as a base system, but instead uses RF technology. When teh command center receives and alert that is valid, they will contact you, which costs you nothing.
