hi there,

as the topic says, any ideas if such a thing is available? how much would it costs to strengthen the chassis for my Civic EJ7 Sedan? Because it's involved in a few accidents, a bit precautious with the safety it has to offer so am looking where i can strenghten the chassis of my car?

where can i get it done, the costs involved and what process will it go through?

thanks a lot! :)

Since ur Civic was involved in several accidents, I suggest the 1st thing to do is to check whether the chassis dimensions are still within acceptable tolerance or not. U can refer to Acoustic's page : http://my-acoustic.com/Car/Master_Body/master_body.htm

If u wanna strengthen the chassis, they're several ways of doing it :

1. Traditional way of spot/seam welding, and rollcages, but this is very-very tedious & can make ur car road illegal.
2. Using strut bars, fender bars etc. The most famous one is http://www.ultraracing.com.my/ur.htm or u can browse through ZTH subforum on Ultraracing
3. Using PU foam injected into chassis. Search the forum for "KL Auto" keyword

also to add PU bushes from Super Pro.

btw...where can i do the spot/seam welding? Preferably somewhre in Kuantan. IF not KL.

You can also use that foam thing that is being sold nowadays where they will inject the foam directly into the chassis to strengthen it.

I'm wondering, what's the purpose of checking the alignment of the chassis and straightening/strengthening it..

as per spot/seam welding, is this legal? (i know the issues regarding rollcages, but i don't plan to have them.. i want my car street-legal and able to carry passengers and other usual road-cars are able to do)

also, is it worth it doing so? the probability of achieving almost stock safety conditions?

or would it better to trade-in for a new car, or solve the current problems with my car and make it safe as almost new? (this as the last choice..)

i'd really like to know your opinions, and also from those who had done such a thing before.
