External wastegate issues!

Hi guys,

when you install a VTA External wastegate, do you experience boost creeps ??? as in boost increases as the revs go higher...
Do u need a boost controller to eliminate this or just keep loosening the wastegate screws??

Any other idea??

fren,
what is the max boost as your rpm increases? the boost just shoot up instantly or graduately with the rpm? do u use manual boost controler or the canggih one ?
i think u can loose the screw and use controler to increase the boost.

boost creep can't be solved by a boost controller... well you can, by lowering the boost so at max rpm it'll slowly creep to the boost you want.

Its suprising that, even with an external wastegate you are still having boost creep. Maybe you are not using a properly sized gate or your manifold is not properly designed?

Boost creep caused also by Air/Fuel ratio.

better check that out.

Hi Joeker,

How does air/fuel ratio cos boost creep?? Please enlighten me.
Thanks

Air Fuel ratio affect exhaust temperature.

And temperature is closely related to pressure. (Thermodynamics)

Turbine is not only governed by exhaust flow but also by the exhaust pressure.

Yes. It could also be due to wastegate size or wastepipe plumbing (too sharp bend, etc).

However, replacing these parts will cost much more money than getting an A/F ratio read out.

hi guys, my actuator was leakin .. however it was runnin 1.2bar constant on every gear... but after the wastegate the boost just follows the rpm... boost for 1st gear 0.9-1.3bar... 2nd gear 0.9-1.4bar 3rd gear 0.9-1.4,5, then fuel cut hehehe

btw i have no boost controller

Damn .... u got b@ll$.. get that fixed before something give.
