just drop a classic 8v fiat twincam plus twin weber DCOE40. port and polish. engine kosong is dirt cheap.

fiat twincam engine was designed by Aurelio Lampredi, designer for Ferrari race engines. that speaks for the great engineering for a common sedan engine. In fact Fiat original twin cam engine has evolved so many times and currently powering the current alfa and fiat cars.

if u know a bit of motoring history, 131 had won WRC for 3 times during late 70's. no need to swap with jap engine, it will kill its proud rallying history. just give it what it deserves- a rally tuned version.
