Hi guys,
Just reformat my pc and installed a fresh copy of Mozilla Firefox web browser.
The problem is that everytime I surf with Firefox, it tend to hang for about 5 seconds in every 15 seconds. Thats bloody annoying. (Doesn't happen with IE6)
The only thing that hangs is just the Firefox.
Other running programs are fine.
Scanned my comp for spyware and found nothing related.
Had this problem previously before I re-format but didn't expect it to come back even after a fresh installation of Windows and Firefox.
Anyone exprienced this before? Solutions are very much appreciated.

p/s : Would want to try out IE7 but dont know where to dl a version which doesn't require validation.

Did you install with a fresh copy of firefox installer? It sounds like a faulty installation, since other applications were not affected by that momentarily pause.

as for IE7, it is very nice to use, as it has tabs, etc, like what you get in firefox. But, it does have a certain incompatibility, even though that certain sites are supported by IE6 and below. So, it isn't really backward compatible.

Yeah I did. But somehow, after uninstall and reinstall, the bookmark is still there.
Any idea how I can get a full working IE7 for pirated "tingkap-tingkap"?

erm? then looks like its not a complete uninstallation. U might wanna find out how to fully uninstall them.

as for IE7 on pirated windows.. can't help u there.. lol.. just use firefox with IE7 skin la.. i'm using it rite now.. i like it more than IE7.. lol.

its weird. i removed them with add/remove program in control panel and re-install the older version, yet the bookmark is still there
anyways, after some trouble shooting, it has got something to do with my anti virus. using norton. when i disable it then the firefox works fine. darn.
any other solution? change to another anti virus? :hmmmm:

hmm... disable real time scanning would be a suicide.. maybe u can try put the mozilla folder in the exception list?

maverick,
mind me asking what versio of firefox you're using? I used to use a version that's greater than ver 1.5 but that caused occasional hang ups. Try installing version 1.5. You can obtain it from
Mozilla Firefox 1.5

Hey Jerry,
Currently using version 2.0.0.6 the latest one. Yeah I think it has got to do with the version cos previously before I install the upgrade, there werent such nonsense. I did try the version 1.5.0.7 and it works well.
Anyways, tried Jules' suggestion and it works but still hangs at times though but not as frequent anymore. If I'm pissed again I'll just revert back to version 1.5.0.7 :banghead:

Try to uninstall firefox again...then delete the Mozilla folder in

C:\Documents and Settings\*Your User Name*\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox

the Application Data folder might be hidden...

Then download the latest copy of Mozilla and try reinstall again...

may I know which antivirus you're using?

Try safari web browser, it's work more fine and better. now works with windows pc as well. http://www.apple.com/downloads =)
