I was kinda bored and pretty much got nothing to do today..it is Sunday afternoon so i have free time to kill. Thus I did some test on plastidip. I wondered what would normal paint do on plastidip. So I used a Jacob's biscuit can and did some simple experiment.

1. The biscuit can...shinyyyy....

2. Clear spray paint, Silver, Banner Red Gloss, Dont know what Green, and Plastidip

3. Guess which is which?

4. Normal dip surface / Plastidip + clear paint

5. PD + clear / PD + Silver

6. PD + Silver close up

7. PD + Red close up

8. Overall

9. Curious, I sprayed the whole surface with red. The dipped surface area is rougher and darker.

10. So can we still do the peeling magic after all this, yes we can.

I sprayed the colour paints from afar i.e. almost 30-40cm away from the dip area. I did not want to overlap the dipped surface with paint, I just want to put on some colour on it and see how it goes. So there we are.

Btw, I've found this cloth can be used to wash plastidipped surface. It's something like chamois but a little bit different. Bought it for RM13 if not mistaken, from Tesco. I use this to wash my dipped bumper lips now...originally would like to use it to absorb water..

Hey, any of u here knows where can i custom made a 20cm(approx) sticker? Just plain white, need to cut only. Or u guys cut before? :(

If is 20cm, might as well just try to buy an A4 Size Sticker paper which is (W)21cm X (H)29.7cm.
Also depends on what u r gonna use it on for. Those are usually printable paper.

Nice try and error bro! :top:

I want the name of the mightycarmods font. I finally have an idea on how I wanna decal my car.

Not easy to find bro, there are millions type of fonts out there, if not millions at least few hundred thousands

And usually they wont reveal what font they are using for their logo. More likely to be copyright or they just created it themselves.

You can get a font CD, and just find something similar to what you are looking for. If you
were to go through 1 by 1, really not sure when you are gonna find the exact font type.

Like for myself, I tried to find the similar font in Toyota website for the Corolla Altis font, but couldnt find. For me is easier, I could just download the logo photo and trace it out. Cuz i want
exact same thing in the website.

Take time to trace as well

guys, if I am to clear coat PD part would it still peel off easily? from the look of cvkit's experiment the red coated-PD part still can be peeled off. but when Ive watched the part where the PD owner clear coated a panel, it cant be peeled off but still can be removed but not like rubbery stuff normally for PD.

Try "ASTON F1". not available in older version of Microsoft office. I remember the font is quite similar.

PD has its own clear coat too...I guess the surface finish would be matte type too. The clear coat I used is those normal spray type, and the surface is smoother and gloss. I personally believe that with the clear coat on, it is more durable towards stone chippings and other damages as the clear coat holds the PD together.

When peeling off the PD with and w/o paint on top, two different things I experienced:

1. Without clear coat: the peeling is like peeling off synthetic skin..it is rubbery. Feels like tearing plastic bag apart
2. With paint/ clear coat: I could easily peel the whole PD off, without much plastic bag - peeling feel. But to initially peel it, it is more difficult to peel coz the paint surface is slippery and hard.

Print already. Tried to cut it, failed very much. But not on sticker paper.

Best to use a blade to cut out, scissors will not be nice as usual.

Seems that all ace hardwares have just restocked. I saw Midvalley and Publika got many cans available. And I saw some new dip packaging at Publika. It is dip type, but comes with colour mixer for us to make our own colour. Not cheap though..
