Global Warming.. What Have U Done?!!

thanx for the offer v2rturbo, but i can buy the bags in a petronas just in front of my house, no worries.. so, if u see anybody bringing a lot of stuffs in petronas stamped reusable bags, dat guy may be me, lol. iam in selayang btw

My wife's company did a promotion last year printing company's logo on reusable bags and distributed them. I had some and gave out to my staffs too, still got some balance, so was thinking can give you some....ha! ha!
That is why all my cars are equipped with them, so whichever cars is driven no worries of the bags....:driver:

ade banyak lagi ke? i can use some if u need to let sum go, hihi.. i love freebies fyi

D7zul... I appreciate your post here. It's difficult to see people who are environmentally conscious in developing countries such as malaysia. In developed countries, it is just normal civical knowledge that people recycle. It is not a troublesome thing. In fact, one will be weird to not recycle. It is just sad to see the situation in malaysia that people are just ignorant or they couldn't care less.

Another thing, for us car enthusiast, is the CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I always hear people talking about decat not knowing what effects it will cause. Of course the car will be more powerful. But hey, the cat con is there for reason and decating releases just a few mere hp that can be gained in other ways. I always advise people to use a high flow cat. It's not very cheap for sure, but come on, if you can play car, you should be able to do it responsibly. Not only harmful to the environment, but also to the driver, passenger and people close to the car. I know the gases are not much, but prolonged exposure over extended periods are harmful and can have cumulative chronic effects.

I am an environmental scientist, and a car enthusiast as well. I know how it feels. That's why I do not ask people to give up JMDs and turbos and high revving screamers and convert into prius and nissan Leaf. I know it is impossible. But since we chose to drive the more fun cars, it is only right that we do it responsibly!

Let's all contribute a little to help make a better malaysia, and world!

Fart less, as the methane gas is 1 of the green house gases too (its a fact!! Dont laugh)

i didn't recommend this..

if u had to go, u had to go..

no need to sacrifice urself to save the planet..

if u r concern about the methane gas, fart at a fire and u get..

Combustion

In the combustion of methane, several steps are involved. An early intermediate is formaldehyde (HCHO or H2CO). Oxidation of formaldehyde gives the formyl radical (HCO), which then give carbon monoxide (CO):

CH4 + O2 → CO + H2 + H2O

The resulting H2 oxidizes to H2O, releasing heat. This reaction occurs very quickly, usually in significantly less than a millisecond.

2 H2 + O2 → 2 H2O

Finally, the CO oxidizes, forming CO2 and releasing more heat. This process is generally slower than the other chemical steps, and typically requires a few to several milliseconds to occur.

2 CO + O2 → 2 CO2

The result of the above is the following total equation:

CH4 + 2 O2 → CO2 + 2 H2O (ΔH = −891 kJ/mol (at standard conditions))

I like how everyone is talking.

so can I assume everyone is going to put back their catcons? Cuz without it you'll contribute more enviro unfriendly gases than what your lightbulbs since you drive your cars everyday.

How?

how bout buy d regular catcon & drill through a hole so that it will become a high flow catcon ?

Maybe izso can help all of us here DIY it

Is true, there are still many unaware or just couldn't careless? Maybe they thought they wont be here anymore by the time
the world ends? That's just too inconsiderate and selfish thinking...We have already enjoy a lot from this World. I believe
younger generations or next generations deserve a chance to see the world and also enjoy what we have enjoyed so far...

We have to make the world a better place like how our great ancestors did for us all to have a better world today...if not
because of the past generations, we wont have lights, cars, clothes and etcs....

Every human being play an important role to save the world and make it a better place for next few generations.

Each time I go shopping, I tend to felt pity to those so call educated people with LV bags or branded accessories buying things
by taking plastic bags...

So much for the education or just born rich or married someone rich??? Can't these people understand what we are going through?
Is Global Warming...End of the world will happen if this goes on...not hard to bring a few recycle bags folded in ur handbag or even
guy's pocket...just too convenient.

If the "G" doesn't want or cant ban plastic bags, we people as citizens of Malaysia, living being on earth, have to work together
to minimize the usage together...:top:

Let's Go Green...

I'd need a TIG cuz I'd need to 'operate' the catcon inside to do that. Unfortunately my wife won't let me have any welding equipment at home. LOL!

Another problem is highflow catcons are hard to come by. Most shops don't sell this

this is the difference between a normal catcon & the hi-flow 1..

Normal Catcon

Hi-flow Catcon

as u can see they share the same internals.. the only difference is the hi-flow has a high flowing Honeycomb catalyst..

so, my suggestion is to drill more holes on the honeycomb of d normal catcon so that it'll become a hi-flow catcon

Is the catcon honeycomb material coated? If yes, then drilling it will just break the material off and it won't work properly. Catcon also have a lifespan...

Got a few, but since you are from Selayang, maybe more costly to pick them up.....ha! ha!

yup.. u're right..

if modified like that, we shorten the lifespan of the catcon..

it'll become like this.. sooner or later

Even if don't break the tiny holes of the catcon will be filled up with exhaust carbon eventually and the flow will slow down....

after remove catcon just tune the car to run lean on low-load ( less than 15% throttle input) so save fuel as well as reduce the carbon output....might as well be better since exhaust are free flow so no power loss but gaining fuel efficiency?especially with old engine with clogged catcon especially with replacement catcon wayyyyyyy more expensive than removing it and getting the ecu tuned to suit (just my un-awarded engineering tought) :adore:

But main function of catcon is to change CO (Carbon Monoxide) and NOX (Nitrogen Oxide) to CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) and N2 (Nitrogen)
