While checking out so many cars over the past few weeks, my favourites have been the Honda Accord and Civic. As per my last post, today i checked out another car, Honda Civic VTEC 1997. Car is in excellent condition, seller is asking for more than 60k. I'm considering this option. What do you guys think? Is this a good model? Hows the fuel consumption and maintenance? Sorry for posting another topic on car evaluation. The prob is i have nvr owned a Honda and planning to do so. Just considering all the pros and cons before comitting. Everyone in here is super-nice. Thanks for the help :D . Its very much appreciated.

get a honda civic year 99 ... =D more than 60k for 97 vtec is quite expensive...i think market price is about 55k+ oni...try to nego..
fuel consumption ..if compare civic and accord ..of course civic better haha..get civic if u plan to modify in the future...more options..

1997 Civic EK for more than 60k? EK hatch or 4-door EK? What sort of specs or mods included?

Quite pricey if its a standard car. Other than that, a '97 Civic EK is a reliable car as long as it was taken care of. You can even see by the depreciation value. The car is about 8 years old and it is still selling at a fairly high price. There is high demand for it, because it is in fact a good car.

asking more than RM60k? sure the car has got some extras. better check out the detail but dont let the seller fool you

Its a 4-door EK....The only modification done is the owner changed the original rims to sports rims 16 inches if i'm not mistaken..Everthing else is mostly standard..Yeah i agree with everyone here after doing my own survey as well, the car is overpriced...Will need to nego for a better price or look for another deal...By the way, anyone knows how much is the fuel tank and how much milleage i can get with that?..Thanks...

i'm using ej7 stock manual
Rm50 will bring to 410km(Caltex petrol)
for 60k its overpriced
should be about 52k and below if stock

60K++ for a stock 97 SOHC VTEC is way overpriced. i paid 65K for a stock 99 SOHC VTEC. initially i thought it was a bit overpriced but i did survey around other 98 to 99 civic and their conditions were pretty terrible for a 6 year old car and asking for about 60K mostly. came across this 65K offer and i thought why not have a look. was very impressed with the condition of the car, almost brand new(for a 6 year old car!). ex owner was a doctor and he really took care of the car, so i bought it.
