Malaysian Road Car hp & performance inquiery

Some of you need to listen to Gordon Murray more often on the benefits of driving a lightweight, great handling car with just enough power. This whole power craze going on is a bit imbalanced IMHO. Driving thrills isn't only about POWERRRRRRR and straight line speed, surely.

Would take an Elise over an over the top, steroid charged Japanese import anytime of the day.

i'm with silverfish. i'd take a sport car that can turn on a dime over any car that can do 0-100 under 4 second anyday, as long as it has enough power for me.

personal preference and driving style, i have yet find any reason to have more than 18kg-m of torque per ton (my car not making anything near 18kg-m/ton lar, but near). With the road condition at where i live, there's just no use for top end speed, no straight highway no nothing. I'd probably hit over 200km/h if i got a car with that kind of power a few time after i bought one, but thats it, i'd probably never gonna do that anymore, there's just no need for it.

if given a choice i'd probably get an mrs and swap the engine to 2zzge, throw in all the trd goodies, everything bolt on, 6 speed manual and i'd probably be happy until i get too old to drive.

ppl,ppl......lets stay on the topic

i juz created chat here thread, lets talk in there it will be d bomb

btw i like alteza better than celica,it looks sexay,i think it would be nice daily car....in a way

Not sure about you guys, but for me i do love watching (or better if have a chance to test drive one, ahaks) those lorries engineed car but not really interested to own one. Do nolah, but i consider myself as a type of driver who dont really like an attention. Just ripped of my decal few week ago. now my car look very plain. if park near few other kelisas with same color, i sometime cant even recognize whic one is mine. Thank god got tiny bomberman at my rear and front window. hehehe..

whatdamn: it looks like you are getting into muscle car thing? nice ford you got there. but why not go for the coupe one? or the oldsmobile which you can see quite regularly at the Siamese border. but that one fuel maintenance would cost you a HELL. hehehehe

back to the topic.

Alteeza is a good car. very practical and sporty at the same time. Celica is good too. head turner and not so bad on its power. but, going back to the thread starter to focus on the topic, I would love to dream of a Waja Coupe with atleast 200bhp on the tap.

with such big body, surely a competition to the 330Ci, right?

ps- dont mention about Proton's bad quality. its just me hoping Proton would sort their problem for once and for all.

Waja coupe - Let's just leave it at that, haha.

Altezza the Toyota that wanted to be a BMW. Mind you they did a fantastic job with the Lexus IS300 which can be boosted much like a Supra but then again it too suffers from lack of traction. Looks cool but then again looks like a 3 series as well.

I am in accordance with those who prefer to turn than just going fast in straight lines. As far as Protons with turbos... Well i was tempted once but i wanted to have to usable power at anytime rather than succumb to the boost hunger which so many people fall prey too, i am sure.

I am rambling i shall just end it here.

deacon : hahahahahahahaha. 'mimpi di siang hari' always good. very pleasant.

thread starter, your topic 'Malaysian Road Car hp & performance' is too small and boring for proper discussions. thats why some of us drifted away and drooling and rambling about S2000s, Celicas, and Alteeza instead of wasting time giving thoughts about Perdana, or Gen2, or the best looking Lotus = Savvy.

This based on the idea of Malaysian Road Car = malaysian made cars. but if Malaysian ROad Car = the vehicle which actually on malaysian road, than my apology in advance.

anything on the road is in the range of 160-250 bhp is just fine with me. I mean cars. yeah, just cars. hahahahahahahahahahah

I'd love for my GTI to suddenly be a perfected mivec 1.8 at 215bhp hehe. I think its ideal for a FF car.

Deacon always :D

ok nvm juz crap away all you want,it keep this thread up anyways, kinda true that its boring to stay on the topic, btw theres a lexus showroom open at the curve, might wanna go see the cars there, seen few nice models in malaysia already.

i love musle car too,but i prefer lowriders those old skool Buick or mayb chevy 64',impala omg omg drooooooling

Trust me if all out power is what you want ... man you want to get a Grand National with a V8 and twin turbo the sucker! recorded on tape as outrunning a mclaren f1 (the road car).

Muscle cars are great ... until you want to make a sharp turn or much less brake. Thankfully lately the American's have been learning about such foreign notions like braking and steering, i guess that's why the Vette is so good now. hehe

nvm my bike is faster, ill keep it,and droool over jet>
but talking bout vette....hmm wonder how much will it cost if it get in here, hopefully not as expensive as mc12 then its okay

A Vette? I'd say about RM700k of course not counting the lefthand drive permits hehe
