Mercedes Kaki..

Hi Sarb,

What are the 110 geard column shifters? Anyways I am not sure whether the halfcut is electronic, I think not. Because I have driven the EClass W210 and comparing it with my 2.5 190E auto, the shift is different. So I guess then that halfcut would be a non electronic auto. I am wondering how the mechanicals of a column shift works. How does it connect from the column to the transmission.

i'm currently studying at uk and i found a whole new cosworth 190e black rear light cost 60pound per set, what do you guys think bout that? any good deal in malaysia or should i stick to the deal british offeR?

nass,

aha!! exactly!! i have also wondered how they work!! but come to think about it.. proton saga auto is electronic.. and it is front wheel drive.. maybe it is electronic but the shift sequence is different.. i drove my unlce latest sl-500 it is exactly like the cars now days.. just straight shift with the release button.. mercedes did not have the release button 10 years back dispite they had some funky shifting sequence... but i think it might be electronic though.. dont tell me saga more advance than mercedes!! hahahahaha!! i am not too sure about ur question.. " what are column geared shifters" but reffering to ur question... the shifter is right on top ur steering column and behind ur steering.. like old school cars.. or like a crv, but manual...

alex,

if it is original not a replica, then go for it man.. geez what bull am i talking.. everything in uk is original.. haha.. cheers to malaysia!! thank god we've got cost effective sollutions.. hahaha!! anyway i think 60quids is worth it, it will save u time and money then running around and getting them back in m'sia

Hi Sarb,

Yeah I know what column gear shifters are cause my dad used to drive those Chevrolet Classics and they had them, awesome cars. But anyways I was wondering what you meant by 110 gear shifters. What's the 110? I have seen an old van having a manual column shifter and I always wondered how anyone drives it? It would be quite interesting!

Today I saw a 500E half cut, even tho it's just a halfcut, the wheel arches were BIG. Wish I could buy it.... sad sad....

Hi 0123,

You can find some parts for the C class. I think there's a shop called Sportline in Sunway. They might have some parts for your car as well as Kleemanns. I found springs for my car at a shop in Batu Caves, the brand is H & R. For your C class, I also happen to saw a C class that was modified to look like a DTM car. That was REALLY GOOD!! I think he used Carlsson Rims and Carlsson twin tail pipes as well. This is not the Japanese quality stuff, this is REALLY EUROPEAN looking stuff. And the bodykit was really awesome. IT's really damn good!! As for rims and tires? I think the thinner the tires the worst the comfort. That's my opinion anyway. I am using 17s, I think 18s can make your ride worst. But then tires are expensive anyway.
hi nsscmw
sorry for the late reply, was away for awhile.
yeah you are right the thinner the tyres the worst the comfort.
i'll check out the shops soon :D
