mitusbishi evo problems

i have a mitsubishi lancer evo 2 and the other night while driving the engine just bowed down and the check engine light came on, i stopped the car turned it off then restarted it and it was fine again. after that it will do the same problem again when goin forward sometimes. can anyone please give me some advice on what the problem may be.

mitsubishis rarely have check light on unless it's a major problem.

if you say suddenly engine bows down and check light come out, first thing i would usually check is the airflow sensor and it's connections.

if that's not the case, then a MUT check would be necessary.
