muscle car spotted

cool wall being serious or not is not the point, as a matter of fact, top gear on it's own is nothing more than car show that even a non enthusist could watch and wouldn't fall asleep. however conflicting oppinions from a big icon (jeremy) in the car world on the tele is an issue.

jokes, yes, however it's not entirely un-true. jeremey wasn't on the initial list for the ford and only much later on was he added on. even that was after all the ford's reviews went abnormally possitive.

unless u're jeremy's kid or somethin, no idea wut u gettin so defensive about. saying jeremy is a big kid was nothing against him as a tv presentor, but as a "petrolhead" i just think he should be slightly interested or even just slightly elaborate on the technical side of a car isntead of. i trashed this car, i like. on a few occasions, (due to lack of info available on the cars that he reviewed) he kinda leaves the viewers annoyed. it's a brilliant car, u want to know more, but he gives you nothing besides, "this car is great fun".

ok, u got me there, hehehe. i'm jus a viper fan. and didn't elaborate enough on what i ment. the car choice is just poor at times. if they were going to put down any car, at least give it a fair shot. and M is just as mcuh of a tuner as Shelby or even Hennessy. only difference is ownership.

i drove an srt10 up agaist a hamM3. car i was driving wasn't modified. M3 coudn't even come close. only on tight corners will the M3 catch up a bit but on wide bends, difference was negligable. my experience with the hennessy done king snake to say the least would be that it would give an enzo a good run for it's money. didn't get the pleasure of being on the track with the enzo but timing difference was +4 seconds to d enzo.

ps. people who are yet to be sure about the point of view of another and has a go at them prior to clarification, really need help.

Right...so who's being defensive now?

Anyway, Top Gear has always striven to be different from all other car shows before it, which were mostly dull and uninteresting. I could look elsewhere for the hard facts. Top Gear is for the entertainment and to listen to what opinions the 3 presenters come up with next on a car.

I may have come across a little defensive but that's only because a lot of people complain about Top Gear but not really thinking about what it is and what it stands for. Clarkson's videos included.

I suppose you are mentioning Clarkson's latest American bashing video. C'mon, what were you expecting? It was always going to be coloured by Clarkson's own opinions, stereotypes and overall biasness.

Oh yeah, on abnormally positive reviews on Fords; I don't quite remember any apart from the wankfest on the Ford GT. Other than that, it has been the cool wall and jokes between the presenters.

PS: I suppose people should ask a poster on what he really meant everytime before they respond. I mean, why make the poster responsible for making himself clear. In any case, we should all take things in good spirit. How's that?

hope for a LS powered proton for teh ultimate win for they would then get out of the low car sales slump causing losses to the hundreds of millions . fat chance lol

ok fair enough. fair point there. i'm jus bummed cos it's always been a really enteratining show but jus lacks that lil bit more ya know. and ok, did just kinda watch that to see what other shit jeremy can pull outa his ass about american cars. *comparison of sound between a muscle and a fine tuned v8. now that is just something ya know!!!

ok my bad. your rep to my post seemed at first like right out offenses. sorry. but hey, on muscles, V8 supercharged + V10 turbo all the way!!! sadly not many in malaysia (very very very few actually). saw a re-painted maroon judge infront of taipan awhile back. ouuuuuuuu :D wonder what is the market price is for that ride

Apparently some members here claimed that they've seen Vipers, Mustangs, Vettes, Tran-Ams and Camaros even. I myself haven't seen any around.

On the sound comparison between a Mustang V8 and a Ferrari V8; that was really quite subjective I thought, Clarkson was just indulging himself really. Both have their own characteristics and both are equally sweet for me. That brawny, thick, muscular thump of American muscle vs the wailing, screaming, snarling of Italy's finest. Why choose one over the other?

yeah. agree with Silverfish. the sound comparison between V8s is purely down to subjectivity of people. but, I love the sound of a V8 in a Ferrari (heard them once or twice only maa..) and also in the muscles (which until now, I havent come across with. only in movies. hehehehe)

err...since I havent see any muscle car down the road, it is possible to muscled a car? hemm..let say a Cortina Coupe?

How hard can it be?

There are high revvers everywhere but yeah, "generally" the US cars sound different because they make their power at lower RPM.

I think this is why some, being maybe used to small engines, like the higher revving variety. Even our 4cyl cars tend to be lower rpm setups... AND bigger. :)

What I like about the typical US V8 sound comes from idle... all perf engines sound good at full song!

Pontiac 6000 was a front drive econo car. Trans Am it isnt... 'course there is this odd thing I cant figure out about Malaysian cars having all sorts of stickers on them so who knows. Maybe its a Trans Am with econo car logos?

:)

Fool the JPJ(?) into thinking its this and you might get a price break: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_6000

Same thing as a Century for those years... brother had one for years. Good car but "bleh".

i've only seen a trans-am and the judge. even tho the plates on the judge looked a bit odd. seemed like either east malaysia or singapore plate or somethin. think these owners should set up a team or somethin. would be nice to just go see some old schoolers areound ya kno :D
