wonder why other autos even without an atf cooler can tahan lasak, like the nissan cefiro a32, a33 4 speed gearbox, everytime i rembat but it never gives problems, even after 7 years. My perdana is very lucky, after 11 years without any ATF cooler, it started to give problems, yeah its the year 2000 v6.

Sometimes it could due to a person's driving style and right foot.. :rofl:
 
Wah. gila just finished reading all 272 pages! Hello, my name is sengot and I am currently seeking a perdana turbo car. After some research, I am looking toward a 6a12tt engine. I have usha some used car dealer and interested in one car.

Tried the car, but i perasan, let say I am accelerating, then i lepas gas pedal. Then when i step on it again, got 1-2sec lag (like semput, but quick) then baru the car start accelerate. Anyone have any idea?

When the car started, within 10mins (cold start), got some clicking, or ticking sound (like bunyi tepet), and dissapear after the car is hot or revved.

then, when first drive, 1st gear accelerate good, 2nd gear accelerate until around 4k, then semput. Car dealer said boost not properly adjusted. He open bonnet adjust some tulang ikan, then the car would accelerate normally. Should i take precaution on that?

Lastly,
Would anyone share info's on checking on used car upon purchasing? specifically for 6a12tt engine. I mean, i would bring a mech, but that is after shortlisted.

never get a used turbo car from a used car dealer, i suggest u get it direct from a seller...take yr time to search for 1....dun rush.....

mine also like that sometimes...like the turbo got problem kicking in.....

teppet noise is normal, always use semi syn oil or those expensive minerals one...fully syn is a no no..

the tulang ikan is to increase boost....nothing to do with the semput2....

so far, there are 4 ppl that i know whose car already exceed 250K km without any gb problems.
2 of those, takes good care of their car but the other 2 just service like normal with no special care.
so what i can deduce here, LUCK also play very big part.. haha..
i took very good care of my engine and gb but still, engine overheat, gb kong.. haish..

me too, nowadays, sometimes my turbo feels like 'nothing happening' for 1 second while changing gear. the other time, works good.
when it happens, the rpm drops 2000rpm compared to normal 1000rpm drop.
hmm.. any ideas?

if manual its the clutch must use 3puck & above...but if for auto not sure leh...:idea:

Bro auto i think can change the torque converter if i'm not wrong.. i also not sure as i'm also new in auto turbo engine.. mine sometimes also feels lag.. when press accelerator, like nothing happen..

i dont think its related to gb. feels like no power, like empty, like u lift off the accelerator pedal..

Hoho... additional information for those of us gearbox always kong.. there's a link here tells you what type of problems leads to what failure.. so you can just tell ur mechanic to check rather than they tell you "eh gearbox rosak, mau overhaul, atau tukar recond?" Hehe...:listen:
