Questions on making 400WHP MR-2

shady, thanks for the compliment but I am far from being "the man".

I would love to leave you my email so we can chat further but work doesn't permit me to.

There are others that have dwelved or still dwelving into the mr2 that need to come out from the woods to give you sound advice. Come out, come out wherever you are...

Trunk mount intercooler seem to be the logical decision due to space constraint. Fans can also be placed at the floor of the trunk and also add on an aquamist injection system which will see your intercooler thanking you.

The NOS system would replace the passenger seat being the next logical thing to do. With a bottle of NOS who needs friends?!?!?

As heat becomes an isse, fans, holes and vents will become your new found friends.

Nice pics! theres a small problem with your suggestion to install the NOS by replacing the passenger seat. Well, over here we are not allowed to install the NOS on a street car and on top of that I can't remove the seat from my car as this will make my car illegal to be driven on the streets!

If there is any other way please let me know! Thank you!!

Are there any companies out there that make Intake Manifolds & Throttle bodies for the MR2? Cuz i was lookin and the only one I found was JUN. Its discontinued and it was very expensive.

There is one custom Intake Manifolds for sale, very nice very big, its with TOM'S call him...

U can fit the smaller NOS can's behind drivers seat or in the boot.boot BTW the Phoenix power car makes 400 without NOS

Yes I do intend on making 400whp without NOS!! I'm jus keepin the NOS for one of those "Rainy Days" You know what iam sayn?

Anyway ...does TOM have a shop or a contact number and does this manifold come with a Throttle Body?

I checked the whole thing and could not find anything except for a modified celica intake manifold.

Do you have any shops there who are specialized in MR2 and ship their parts internationally. Most of all they should be reliable.
please give me a link to their website or any other contact detail.

Thanx

hey Shady,
you started with an ambitious figure(no harm there) and now you are asking for parts to be shipped there!!!!Methinks someone(maybe yourself) is bound to get hurt.Even if say you order a race prepared engine say from TRD or TOM'S in Japan, you will need all the supporting stuff:piping, hoses, hydraulics, pumps etc and most important the ECU put it together and make it work. When u go for mods(and want high performance) its not a simple plug and play.
You did not mention whether your model was turbo or not.
If non-turbo then swap to 3Sgte(st205) and you will double your HP already.
Sorry to bring you down to earth with a bump.

hi shady
its good to know you are enthusiatic in making your mr2 a beast machine, its awesome bro!
btw just to share with you that i just got my engine mountings worn out so keep that in mind; with big power, come big payoffs as stock couldnt cope with the new output power..and mine is only a stock-a N/A, so imagine a mods one with monstrous turbocharger system..
there's a previous thread saying that normal parts sometimes couldnt cope with the power and its true (trust me im an engineer, its related to FOS & CDVA for the material)
sorry to bump you but have no intention to let you down, just for a reminder for the benefit of us
final word; GOODLUCK BRO!
if you have nothing to worry about ie cash n time, so go for it!!

Hey Buddy!!
How u doin? First and foremost let me tell you that ....you did not bring me down to earth with a bump cuz i always was here and never left.:itsme:
Second go through all the threads and posts on this topic then u will see it is obvious that i have a TURBO MR2 but jus for your satisfaction I'll give you a detailed discription once again so that it will save your time and it will be easier for u to understand.

- 1991 MR2 GEN II
- 3SGTE ENGINE (STOCK)
- CT26 TURBO
- HKS SSQ Blow Off Valve
- 17" wheels
- Border Bodykit

I hope that is enough for you to get a picture of what i own.
Yes!!! I 'am asking for parts to be shipped here cuz i don't live in Malayasia. As for you telling me that i will require hoses, pipes, etc. I think that is very obvious and i already have that knowledge.
I'am right now collecting my parts that i require for my Goal. Kinda funny and confusing:confused: that you mentioned all that in your post, but Hey!! its ok.:itsme:
Sorry to bother you. Hope I did'nt bump you or whatever that is that you say over there.
All I'am tryn to say is that I'am not tryn to be rude or did'nt mean to be offensive.

take care

Have a nice Day!:wavey:

Regards.

Hey Graham!!
How you doin? I totally agree with what you say and I'am already aware of it. U should check out some of the earlier posts under this same topic (I think page 2) there should be a link to [MR2 POWER PRIMER].
Check it out, very informative and intresting material. It has your point in it but in a more detailed manner.
The basic quote here would be "YOU GOTTA PAY TO PLAY"

NOW WHERE WAS I?

Oh Yeah!! Do any of you know of a Good and Reliable shop in Malayasia that is specialized in the
MR2.

Thanx for your time.

Regards.

P.S - I Hope they ship their parts internationally!

Hey Shady,
why dont u give some of the mr2 parts suplliers here a call.
Maybe they can help you in reaching your goal.

1) TOMS aka. Alvin.
2) GT Auto Sunway
3) TRIAL Tuning
4) LSF Auto Sunway.

As for me, I am a regular user.. :)

first thing is to change to the 245 engine ... the 225 not that gud for that kind of power

Shady,

Or sell yr car and buy MRMIC's car, already got 400bhp... widebody sommore...

LA,

225 can also :-)

225 can also ofcourse but its an older engine and you have to do more right?

From what i heard and visited the forum of GT Auto Sunway, the workmanship can see from photo is really good. I think is well-known for their good workmanship as well. Never went there before but so far from my 1st impression is good.

Khoo198: Maybe u can explain since u have 500HP on ur MR2 :thefinger::rofl::rofl::rofl:
