just got the amp installed recently and tested with 12" peerless xls (4ohm SVC, not sure about the power rating because it was not mentioned on the back of the sub). cannot really feel the kick despite the box is customized for the sub.

from what i know, when brigde, the amp is capable to deliver 500W. unless something is wrong somewhere.

i have heard this amp driving the shiva sub, very nice. the downside is the huge box. is there any vga500.4 owners driving other brand of sub, pls advise as i'm looking for one.

also, if there is any sifu can advise on the amp setting, your input is most welcome.

thanks.

.. if its a 4-channel amp, how to recommend a suitable sub? most sub runs on monoblock, or to a lesser extend, 2-channel ones.. monoblock, class d amp is more efficient for subs anyway, with better temperature control..

Well, if the amp is bridgable then it should not have problem, anyway this amp is 4 channel amp with specs of 250w X4 with 2ohm and 125w X4 with 4ohm. It can be used to power a sub and a component set with 1 pair front and 1 pair rear. But as what pjam has said, still power the sub with a monoamp is better, but for my say money still come first, we can hear alot of opinion from others, but if no money what can we do?

need to re-tune the crossover points to get what u want first before u decide to change anything....

i have experience this amp... it does not really behave like a 125w x 4 or a 500 x 2 ...

It's kind of over-rated I'd say. Sold 2 units before then stopped bringing them in.

Anyway, its still a fair amp for a mid-end setup. What's your budget for a sub? Fancy something like a Helix W12 competition ? 350w @ 4 ohms.

The amp is over rated? That's mean it cannot deliver as stated? Anyway how much you are selling for the Helix amp or sub? I see 1 shop and the price is too high for me...
