hi to every shifus out there,
Last time my sgti petrol consumption was high...after taking to PESC to do the MUT everything was solve...but today when i test my top speed at the highway it can go till 160km/h only...my sgti is a year 2000 gti...i bought this car 2nd hand a month ago!

Can any shifus tell me wat is wrong v my car??i am very unhappy v this car....i really hope to know wat is my car problem...1st gear n 2nd gear very powerful but when i change to 3rd gear the car seems to slow down n don have any power....pls help

eep! scarey stuff.. my gti's consumption is crazy as well but after hearing your problem i doubt i wanna send my car to PESC for the MUT anymore..

any one with some good advice for cooljas here?

If the last thing you did to the car before it has this problem was the MUT, I suggest you go back to the guys who did the MUT for you. <_<

u guys got me wrong...bfore sending to pesc i din try the top speed as i know it consump a lot of fuel....so lately only i try the top speed...but it can go til 160km/h only....stil got anyone can give me more idea???

There is no speedcut on Siemens karipap anyway...

Could be your throttle position, could be your transmission... could be so many things....

What is the RPM at 160kph?

What is the full detailed history of the car? Are you the only owner? If not, since when you had the car? When was the last timing belt change? Where was it done?

im not 2nd owner...i don know wat the first owner did to the car.....if i am not mistaken 160kmh should be around 5k rpm...i am also suspecting the transmission...hopefully it is not the transmission coz ill be taking my car to check later....haih:(

will let u all know wat is my problem later...

Your car can rev to 7000-7500 easily... why are you stuck at 5000rpm? have you floored your throttle?

Try borrowing a friend's GTi and see if you can feel any difference in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear... could be your timing belt slipped out of position, but that means the last mechanic who changed the belt did a really horrible job.

i've check my car problem...its the PESC ppl dunno how to tune...all the timing r not in proper timing...need to retune n cost me 60bucks...damn PESC...no quality...next time u all don take to PESC in USJ....let me waited for 5hours last time n give me a bunch of shit....hate to critic them but it really burns me....

That shouldn't be the case.. SGTi should be able to go till 180 easily.. where is PESC in USJ? U can also go to any reputable EON SC adnd get them to diagnose that 4G93P man.. Check for blockages.. any weird sounds emitting from yr car.. smoke from yr exhaust.. shifting troubles.. Going to PESC can be tricky coz sometimes they'd charge u for unchanged parts..

Worse come to worse, u can try to do a reset of yr ECU.. But this is done at yr own risk.. How to that? Search the forums.. Once read it here..

Go to the satria gti club forum and ask if anybody know the history of your car... it could be that GTi who is famous for minum petrol wan.

Maybe installing a S-AFC II might help. U can specify at which RPM point to run rich or lean.
