Sound Quality / Sound Stage

Please help.
Comment / advise needed.

Car came with OEM HU with component set, tweeter located at front door rear view mirror (inside of course), mid bass located at lower front door. Rear mid ( i think no tweeter) at lower rear door. Subwoofer at the rear shelve. I'm quite comfortable with this setup (oem)

Thinking of replacing the front & rear to MB Quart DSD216, but then I read from this forum (somewhere) that the tweeter is a bit too sharp. I was wondering how this shall affect the sound quality / sound staging.

Any feedback or comment (good or bad) is appreciated. Purely at a planning stage.

it will only effect your ears/head during long periods of listening, some call it listening fatigue.

You could also use an EQ to "tame" them....but if you have not given the MBQ's a listen, how do you know they will be sharp to your ears?

sharp tweets are kiling me. try to set your HP lower. Sq is more towards balance out where music reproduction sounds natural.

MBQ is a bit sharp when powered up by an amp... so far last time with HU it was ok...

Staging is more on positioning and tuning.

SQ is more on naturalness which is an effect of mostly tuning. Positionign helps too at times.

MB Quart being "Sharp" = this is the feedback thyat I found in the forum, not my personal opinion :-) Had never used any MB Quart before, but had ordered it from our fellow forumer....coming soon. Should be able to provide my feedback after I recieved and installed. I belived that you can tune it somehow bon the componet crossover. The Bravox that I had installed have this "feature".

Positioning & tuning need input, but on a standard car, the positioning is almost "preset" unless we are going for a "major sugery" that I see in the magazine. So what can we do with the positioning. Also the installer shall most probably use the most "convenient position" just like when I install the Bravox. Do you guys think if we were to point the mid slightly up (rather than just vertical) helps?

for the tweeter u can play with the placement position and aiming to see what is most suitable for your preference. sometimes firing them across the windscreen (aimed to each other) can help if its too sharp.

Am using a pair of MBQ but not the DSD series. The tweeters are sharp but it came be tuned down throught the cross over and the HU. I prefer my sound sharp anyway. :P
