Honda built this car to settle whole 2.0 performance market

if toyota produce a performance car now, for 2.0 market, then the car of cos can fight FD2R

K20A is the NA highest HP for 2.0, no arguement la...everyone.... but for now only...not mean forever....( althought i have K20A )

Lets hope Toyota produce new performance machine to surprise all people

VVTL-I is the 1st engine ever produce with changing cam + valve timing.. while-list honda copied their technology thus produce the VTEC with the I called I-VTEC changing cam and valve timing to be able achieve more fuel efficiency, whatever it is, i still feel that 2ZZ-GE is a great performance NA engine.. celica sport-m is current highest spec among zzt231, and it produce 200bhp, 188nm torque and only weight 1140kg.. vtecs are well known than lifts simply bcoz honda have more aftermarkets (eg spoon, J's, seeker and etc etc) and yes i does think VTEC is alittle overrated and just look at how US ppl boastful about their VTEC those compilation are just nuts.. "vtec kicked in yo" kills..

Just curious to know if anyone had tested their Toyota against the Honda Civic Type R (FD2R) or DC5.1)the first question directed to toyota owners who tried playing with dc5 or fd2r not for u to assume or read in google and than come to ur own conclusion only discuss if u were in the situation

Good to hear from someone that owns both a Toyota & the FD2R. I'm sorry I didn't state my motive to start this thread off; didn't know I need one anyway but I did mentioned it was just a talk kok syok-syok topic. So far everyone's very matured & made no childish remarks. So no worries, 220 km/h. We are mature people here.more explanation with hope to have matured but fun discussion
Anyway, here's my motive:
I asked because I just had a friendly match with a stock standard FD2R with my rusty bucket. The result was a draw. We were both surprised (me & the FD2R driver) coz that was not what we both expected. I expected to be eating the dust made by the FD2R coz Tsuchiya called it a Racing car with number plates. So that's why I asked if it was over rated. It was RM 200k car against a bucket of rust literally.further explanation with modesty on his own car
now that I've myself clear, I just want to repeat that there's no intention to belittle the Honda or whatever reason. Infact, if I have the money, I might consider buying one myself. Hehehe.still the thread starter has great respect for the car so no preference to a specific brand

I seriously expected the FD2R to be faster, so I was curious to know if anyone else had tested their Toyota against the FD2R & have a different result. doesn't matter lost or won but just want to know by how far. My rusty bucket is a 1985 ST150 Corona with a redtop Beams 3SGE inside. We did rolling 50-180 km/h; 2nd - 4th gear for me).I'd say the FD2R has a similiar performance with the Caldina in the same situation (rolling) coz I also tested with it & got the same result.still surprised that he could come close to a honda and asking other toyota owners if they had similar results

I think overall, win or lose, is quite a fair fight. We're both 2.0 liter, 4 door saloon, car weighs similiar, FD2R running on 18", mine on 17" wheels; except mine has much more rust...Then again, it was all in the name of fun; regardless win or lose. Just a little surprised, that's all. I myself, have always regarded the FD2R very highly in NA class.showing more respect to the other brand and not belittling honda cars

I AM surprised, that's why I started this thread to check if any Toyota fans have a different result.asking further if anyother toyota owner has similar experience not theory

Me myself has an '92 AE101 ride and IMO honda and toyota are at par on the nineties as honda produced EF/EG/EK with B series and toyota produced AE with 4AG/ZE and 3SGE/GTE series but toyota's losing their turf when we enter year 2000 as they focusing more on luxury, comfort segment rather than performance segment...anyway, hari raya is juz around the corner, so lets forgive and forget ya...peace

Is it because some feel tak syok because fd2r cannt fully tapau an old Toyota ?(fd2r still win but not by 9 miles ?). On the other hand, one feels offended (nt sure if starter feels offended when some started to def hondas) and feel tak syok because losing to fd2r not by 9 miles? Either way, this is never ending debate.

In the end business is all about money, making the fastest car doesnt make the fastest sales.
Toyota did try to sell performance cars recently(look at TRD Camry at Australia) but the sales were very bad.

If you draw a bell curve, roughly you can see 70% of the world's population sit in the middle average user who want cheap and reliable cars, 15% at the left side of the curve wants Green Tech, 15% on the right wants high power.

In any arguments fanboy inputs are always biased and wrong, it should be ignored.
