Tyres issue never ending story

I used to have GIII but I wasn't all that impressed with it versus what their advert says. I didn't have confident with GIII on wet roads. Even my old Yokohama AD502 (something like that, can't recall exactly) was better even with just 30% thread. I once tried whacking the LDP western digital fly over corner at about 120kmh with 30% thread on Yokohama AD502 and it was like driving on dry road. Oh, it's 15" anyway. Then I changed to GIII. Dry road, okei after wearing out about 10% of thread. Wet road, like hover craft. hahaha FTZ sport ar... straight away like ice skating la. haha And guess what. Today, hot dry road, at about 80kmh or so, I braked the ftz sports skidded! Darn dumb! Hot dry road! No more silverstone for me. Unless silverstone gives me free reverse thrusters, free installation and free re-fueling of those thrusters, then I'll go for silverstone again. heh heh

so far using tyres , my dads , my moms , and mine

if u r looking for comfort with grip then its pirelli , then michelin
if u r looking for grip , its dunlop dj01 , advan ad07 , falken azenis st115 , goodyear f1
if u want just a daily drive tyres i suggest hankook's , goodyear nct
dunt know y , i have 6 badluck silverstone tyres , either nt good grip or they just dnt last

if u have budget, get the Michelin Pilot Preceda/pp2, its a very good tyre whether its wet or dry, i already use them for quite sometime, no complaint about it. Its good grip,quite and comfort.

You could try Hankook RS-2 (a.k.a AD07 copycat). Quite a good tyre for the price you are paying. :regular_smile:

Which tyres dat hv "strong" sidewall? Recently i changed to Falken Azenis but after 1 week my sidewall "got hole" coz i "hentam" divider..hehe

im using falken ziex on my car, and ive driven at almost 100kmh on wet road without any problem. Not worried at all

Last time, I was using Yokohama A502. Quite old model tyres but that was a few years back. I whacked the LDP Western Digital flyover corner at about 125kmh after rain. Some more, that dumb arse tyre had only 30% thread left. Honestly, I was stupendously surprised that a shit tyre like that could do that corner at that speed. Actually, I was running away from a ZTH member who was driving a honda with 18" rims. He was provoking and scaring me. haha But seriously, I'd say it's nothing to be proud of to corner at that speed with a 30% thread tyre. It's plain foolishness. I never drove fast on wet roads again after that.

i need tyre that can stand hard corner and good grip..which one u seggest? Ad07 is way out of reach..haha

I just changed to ad07 for RM225 per piece, 195/50/R15. Changed it at Klang, Jalan Kapar, at this rather large tyre shop that takes up 4 shop lots, including the upper floors where they keep their tyres. Dry road, wonderful. Wet road, nice. Of course, I'd would advice not to speed on wet road because you really can't predict just how wet the road will be, unlike girls, you can feel how wet they will be. heh heh

For the Hankook RS-2, go ask cyclonite. He's using it on his wira SE. He said he tested the tyres downhill from genting and by the time he reached the bottom of the hill, his brakes were glowing red. He didn't mention how good the grip was, though. hahaha

The wear rate of a tyre would also depend on how a person drives it. If always whack corner like I do, then 1 year sure gone case. Else, if always driving nicely, the tyres should pretty much last more than a year. Most tyres are good only for 2 years, if I'm not mistaken.

Hankook RS2 ? i haven't really heard of that type, someone in the tyre shop recommended something called the "Hankook V8"?

apparently it has good grooves for wet driving. Anybody can help comment on this?

bro kk13,usually those sticky tyre wont last as long as other regular tyre.
if u opted for a longer lasting tyre,it wont be that grippy.before buying
any tyre,try asking urself what kind of tyre more suitable for ur style
of driving.if u just drive from A to B with an average speed of below 120km/h,
why waste money to buy expensive n grippy tyre when it can wear out more
faster then the conventional tyre.unlike satria95 who likes to take corner,
then it's worth it.u can check out the thread wear on the sidewall of the tyre.
if the rating is A,that's mean it can last longer then the one rated B.

bro vagabond,rs2 is the tyre mostly ppl refer to as advan ad07 wannabe.
the shoulder block is wide for good conering.the thread looks cool too.

tried Kumho Ecsta before. my opinion.. pretty good for the price you pay. but the sidewall like abit soft and unattractive. I went through about 3 sets of Ecstas before switching to my current tire, Yokohama A.Drive R1. pretty good so far.

if I'm not mistaken, alot of people are opting for this tire now. On the day I got mine, at least 5 cars rolled out of the tireshop with A.Drives. @_@
