V-Tec, engine to beat!!!

i remember when i was playing wit dis white 4 door EK on my way to ampang, ITR spoiler (at least i think so, looked like a tiang gol, lol), smart looking rims (i think they were bronze in colour), proper zorst, i luv its setup!! man, did it go!!dis is one of the honda dat made me think of engaging into 4th. but, i know if 4th is engaged, my car wud leap up front, so i had to wait until the road is clear before engaging 4th on high revv, once engaged, the chase was all over. it was one of the most fun pursuit ive ever ran, i gave the driver a thumb up for being a good sport, he gave me a honk, and we went our saparate ways.

the description more likely hattech's car .. the runaway was his favourite place to test his machine ekkeke..

lilvee : understood, thanx bro!! :) but, i think wit an LSD gearbox, the outcome wud be different completely. most of my problem wit launching wud be getting traction to the ground, hell-ish wheelspin even in 3rd, mildly in 4th, so for now iam better wit street games. hopefully i can get my hands on an LSD soon, but the price tag is way too steep for my wallet. sumbody in europe gotten his hands on an original 4WD starlet, and making his way up from there. there r a few units of dat dream machines here, but they r very rare to be seen. getting those 4WD system wud be great for traction, but is way to extreme for me.
ive run wit several hondas dat kicked my arse, so i know the VTEC can produce high torque in lower revv. i know its gonna cost a bomb, but i just know its do-able. i know for a fact hybrid block is one of the way to go, but r there any other way to improve the airflow? in my experiences, air flow is the key to make any engine to produce good torque, so if u guys can just improve the air flow, maybe u can shift the VTEC engagement earlier? ive tried to engage the B16 VTEC system in lower revv before, using a VTEC controller, but the results werent dat good. dis was done on std B16 block, so i wont suggest anyone to do it either. below VTEC shift point, the air flow seems not to be high enuff for the extra lift to do its magic. or did i do it wrongly??

udengfahlawi : ha ha.. dats gotta be really diffcult to master bro :)

hmm... changing vtec engagement point eh ? ...its still debatable till now.... through my experience...engaging vtec too early wull sacrifice ur top end power.... heheh...shift vtec engagement point later than stock 5800rpm is better for top end power... in fact, if i'm not mistaken many honda vtec tuners recommended to shift the engagement point at around 6000-7000rpm after installing high cams such as TODA, JUN, CROWER etc...he.he..correct me if i'm wrong please....

To extract da most useble power band from vtec cam is only on dyno. The smart Honda ECU react differently to diff mod.. why? bcoz honda got 2 separate map for low and high(vtec) cam profile. Its 'switch' the map during the engangement. To tune this, its required EMS which have 2 map.

iam no expert to correct what u wrote bro, BUT engaging it later witout proper revv cut extension wud be useless, no? when i tried to lower the VTEC shift point to say.. cant remember.. humm.. 4000rpm??, the engine response wasnt dat good. i did a research before dat, found an article regarding airflow importance, and the experiment i did by lowering the VTEC shift point was just to concure dat article's validity. i think honda musta have tot dis before we did, and put the shift point where it is today, or else they musta have put it in the lower revv if the engines gonna perform better dat way, no? they musta have put it there because dat rpm is the minimum optimum revv for the VTEC system to perform best

Try this on dyno ... its work for me.. atleast

1) Set vtec at higher rpm, let say 7500 rpm. pull and plot the graph
2) Set vtec at lower rpm, let say 3000 rpm. pull and plot the graph

Where this 2 graph cross each other... there is ur optimum vtec po'eng u can get.

harpoon's ride is silver color one... its launch like harpoon rocket...
only the finishing different,.... hehe
this harpoon very hati kering guy... u will nganga if u see him doing stunt manoeuver using MIG-29N.... the same thing he did when driving... huh....

oit....what's this. hattech's white ek 99specs is better looking than mine.
you need to watch his launch and dragz then you'll remember it forever.....rev till redline n make the engine squeeze it's juice all over.....

so, he is a pilot? ha ha.. i luv those MIGs, once my father brought me to enter the cockpit, i think dat was d only time i entered an MIG. my dad was one of the key person who bought dem MIGs for our beloved Malaysia. i think there r 18 here? or are there 12? cant really remember the numbers, alwiz got confused between how many hornetts and MIGs dat we have. u r one lucky son of a gun to be one of the MIG's pilot. captain in the house, salute!!!

the numbers cannot tell one.... govt secret.....heheheheh

btw harpoon, were u one of those flyers during LIMA? i heard kolonel akhbar flew dat day? last time i saw him when i went to kuantan air show, his manouvers r the best ive seen so far. cobra manouvers, full thrust after taking off, etc.

myself don't fly that acft la.....these people just joking only.....my friends like that, they like to have fun all the time and all year round.

anyhow col ackbal not in the sqdn, it's headed by col zaman. lt col ashgar is around though......n they're the cream that we have

if put at a lower range, the pressure build up may not be sufficient enuff for the efficient combustion to take place, this in normal aspirated engine, so the pressure need to be there to help piston in increasing the pressure

be aware also that honda increase the compression ratio but did not add any additional cooling mechanism for the engine. heat transfer efficiency is enuff if it's simply for normal street race, but not for serious track race. that's why for track race car that is not modified you can find accelerated engine wear.

vtec engine was designed for the benefit of both world, economy low speed and powerful high speed driving.
there's give and take there..... at low rev the engine behaves like a small and simple engine while at high rev, then only it reveals its true spirited drive.
that is why the vtec point is set at somewhat high rpm, to ensure that the driver really want the peak power and torque, and to reduce the amount of wear in the engine

haha that one for our failed football team..... give extra money also useless..... small country team can easily beat them.....
