Which phone should i choose??

I have used both the note 3, and Z1 before, personally I would choose the note 3,
Camera in note 3 is slightly better(z1 high megapixels does not mean better quality, the lens does), compare both yourself and look,
much much better battery life in note 3, faster charging, 3.0 usb support.

z1 has a much better build quality than the cheap leather used by the note 3, however it can be fixed with an aftermarket casing.
and of course, z1 waterproof abilities is awesome if you always go swimming :)

No comparison, Z1 wins hands down, can take pictures of girls in shower, girl can do video call in shower. Or when you are playing watersports with the girl. can note 3 do that?

Don't think so, more people using Nokia Lumia than Alcatel. Hardly see people on Alcatel daily.
Either Lumia, Sony, Samsung or Apple. Blackberry also not many.

The only reason Izso get the Sony is to snap some perky asses in the swimming pool. And then straight share to us through whatsapp. Snapping photos under water is more stealth than on ground.

The removable back panel is a bit of an oddity though. It is still most assuredly plastic but now it has a slightly soft faux leather effect texture and feel.
I still find it preferable to Samsung’s shiny plastic (you can still get optional shiny back covers if you wish) but with the fake stitching and skeumorphism it is a different kind of tacky in my view.

What do you guys think about Xperia ZR? The spec seems pretty good for it's price now (only around rm1.2k) and the size is perfect IMHO (not too big, with still decent size screen).

I'm using this ZR. It's waterproof like the Z1 (actually ZR came first) and is foolproof. I don't see much or any bloatware and has never had any issues with the software. Only issue is the camera which I believe has been resolved in the Z1 and is slowly trickling out to the other models. Only complaint is it doesn't have LTE so it's a little slow on the loading speeds but that only means the battery life is better (LTE is a battery sucker).

It's not heavy, fits in my hand quite well and has an ultra sharp screen. Me likey ZR.

Custom rom on any android phones will void the warranty, im sure the cyanogen guys will find a way to prevent it from flagging. The note 3 has a slightly better outdoor visibility(z1 has to use maximum brightness), can draw boobs better with the stylus, much better battery life, better display and camera in my opinion. Try comparing both phones and used them for a week, each phone has it's pro's and con. If im going swimming regularly, than it's the z1 for me.

Water damage warranty depends on whether the water proofing was damaged intentionally or manufacturing defect. The water proofing is quite extensive on the ZR and if you get one, I don't recommend using the earphone jacks (which is plugged) cuz removing it too often will loosen the seal to some extent. I'm using my Iphone for music and stuff. Also I have a charging station so I don't have to yank out the plug for the power charger either so it doesn't loosen.

I bought this ZR mainly because I sweat a lot. So much so I can get condensation on the phone when it's in my pocket. This condensation destroyed my S2 Samsung. I didn't see any LTE versions for the ZR in the Sony official stores. Oh and buy from the official stores not the distributors. The official stores will let you register membership and that'll let you buy stuff 10% off.

I thought as long as you buy one that comes with ori 1yr Sony Malaysia warranty then should be the same, is it?

I read again his post and he mentioned being a member of Sony store to get 10% discount on purchases. Getting from authorized dealer, phone have warranty but not store member....

Ok understood, thx for the info. I'm still thinking between the ZR, Z1, or S4 Active, but my tendency is going for the cheapest one.
Btw have you tried BBM using your ZR? If so, is it working good?

Oh! Sony HQ store. Original disc for PS2 those days cost RM99. Bought original set but send to dealer to open up to use compatible software. Never bought original, cannot afford.....hahahaha

Hi Izso, I've finally bought the ZR as well! So far also quite happy with it. Btw how much did you buy the docking charger? I want to buy one too to preserve the charging flaps so to stay waterproof. (I've tested in a glass of water and works as expected).
