zth scarify the top banner for better page loading response (and additional new ads banner ) .

Actually I second that.

Heres my rant;

The quality of posts has gone down hilll since...a long time ago. Its like 70% of posts are just crap or useless and dont contribute to the trend at all. For example; one member posts, "whats that?"..and the next post says, "ya..whats that?"..and the third posts say "yalor..what is that ar?". Correcting a members post once is enough, everyone else dont repeat what the previous post says.

When you see a tread that is spam, leave it alone. Report it to a moderator, there no point responding to it. Higher post counts does not make you more matured.

Furthermore, some member fail to realise that a forum is not a chatroom. Just because you know that member in real life dosent mean everyone else does. Please read posts before posting a reply.

I seriously think ZTH should have a FAQ sticky. A quick rundown of what do to & what not to do.

Far as I'm concerned, any post without an opinion has no value. That an also posts with no reasoning. Does this mean that the people of today have less knowledge than the people before them? I mean knowledge does come from reading or research. Having an opinion involves more of a thought process though. Maybe not enough thought is put in. The way I see it, forums are becoming more like MSN.

i second that...ppl become POST WHORES..as they wont to get more posts so that they become "senior" members..or have a lots of posts...

Secondly..there are still some sellers that DONT put up a PRICE...i think the rule was made by tom that PRICES must be displayed...

Thirdly..i think since Sakura has taken some of the responsibility as a mod..the time taken to delete useless threads has decreased...i hope u keep up the good work..

The previous design which was on trial was found to be impractical for Zerotohundred.com. I have noticed a decline in overall performance,especially in terms on readability.

Please continue to enjoy the old look with improved design features.
We will continue to work on it

It is not purely a matter of telling them what to do and what not to. Many a time, you will notice that there is a problem with comprehension.

er my 2cents

need more stickies in respective forums so that repost type of threads can be reduced . example , hosted orgs esp the RE forums - http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/forumdisplay.php?f=90 , where FAQs and important threads are pinned .

and as for the zth posts being MSN-ish , thats just the us msians i guess being laid back ? or should the forum have sections where serious/constructive replies is allowed only ?

do anyone ever look at stickies??....personally I don't really ever look at it unless it catches my eyes. Maybe it's just me.

Anuther thing is like the repost thingie.... a lot of time I think is like they can never find the specific title.
Everytime there's a problem, a guy might come in and post "Something wrong with my car"....than basically talk about the problem in the thread. So if I've a problem, would I look at that particular thread? So sometimes we can't really blame this ppl. Anyway, sometimes the guy doesn't even know what's the problem; thus the easiest way is to just type it out. Unlike of course u know it's a "steering rack problem" than u type it out and search.
But do agree that repeated thread is quite irritating. And do find a lot this days. But what really can be done?

Unless ofcourse you found one particular topic which is really informational and stick it up.
I think recently there's one on HID which shows no crap talk at all...which is quite good. Thus when ppl wants to know more about HID; that's the thread to go to and easily spotted too.

But in current cyberspace society; I don't think we're likely to find this type of topics left un-polluted.

Come to think of it. Can't really help it if people still ask questions that we think is stupid. But how stupid is stupid? I only choose to answer auto related replies. Which makes things easier when they are about engines, trims blah blah. So how stupid is stupid? Maybe the poor fellow doesn't know E means empty and F means full? :secret:

But the really stupid questions gotta be the girlfriend & sex related ones la. It is asked in a legitimate way. But then the answers all gotten really weird and crappy. Then eveything end up talking cock. Hey! where is the talk cock section ah? But even then its lucky that these question only come in General Talk.:confused_smile:

I mean many are more than 20 years already. Then when we reach 30 or more, would any of you think still have time to log on to ZTH and post again and again? And the "league of silly questions" fellas would eventually end up taking many of our places. Right?:angel_smile:

Sometimes, yes a website does need feedback to improve. But then when guys who hang out here 5 years or more tend not to like changes. (Which means you spend too much time suckling at ZTH! hahaha) And mould ZTH to where they see fit. Then again i'm one of the fellas who spent 6 years here since ZTH was really a crappy site (long time ago la). Nowdays damn modern and nice interface. But the fonts got smaller and need glasses to look at it hahaha.:_:

I think ZTH can improve where the webmaster see fit. I would rather they implement what is current and trendy here. Because all our demands might not be the same. Aren't we all created to adapt or are we too lazy to learn?

Liked the layout, black is nice with some striking colours and everything is in order. Tom is working in the forum till now i think.

my honest opinion for zth la...
- dont put too many ads which will slow down the loading time... not everyone is using full 1M of broadband... even my house with shared 1M broadband have to wait for the page to load... vr annoying...
- upgrade server is good... but, try make it during midnite or when its off peak hours...
- after upgrading, make sure no previous info/posts/messages are lost... means dont back track after upgrading...

i guess these few points makes zth less popular nowadays....

zth never requested membership fees or anything, so they need ads to keep them alive..
we just have to bear with it unless whoever is rich say "I'll sponsor" lar...

Basically, the common AD's from Google AD-Sense is based on HTML and nothing related for slower loads, unless heavy graphics. Graphics or animations less than 30kb shall load faster even using 56k Dial-Up Modem.

AD's by the merchants arent tat huge and even faster load in 384kbps broadband. I'm using 1MBPS shared by 4 PC and a laptop .. i dont say it loads best or worst, its on average.

Upgrading depends, hardware shifting shall be done off peak hours because the staff's know when is peak and when is not. But i suppose the time taken to alter the PHP scripts and adding new features to the scripting is a headache, tats y it takes time and error in scripting shall cause pages are corrupted.

Tom is working hard to give the best to the whole community now as the automotive season are getting more advanced. I have been with ZTH since Tom didnt register for the Dot Com domain, the flow of ZTH is just nice and clean. Comparing to other car forums, Zerotohundred.Com is the most high-tech interfaced Automotive Network Malaysian's even Asian's ever seen ..
