What's the Oil Temp & Oil Press reading for aftermarket oil cooler set?

is your friend using the same grade of engine oil as yours?

100 degree is normal for me. been using oil temp gauge for 1+ year..
i would like to rephrase what dr snape 79 said..anything more than 110 degrees for oil temp is dangerous IF you are driving slowly, carefully, never ever rev to redline each and everytime you change gear.

if you are on long distance journey..and maintaining speed 130km/h and above..dont be surprised if your oil temp gauge reads beyond 100 degrees to 115. i've experienced this. nothing happens to my engine. no overheating occurs. using idemitsu semi syntetic.
i've been driving from penang to jb quite a few times. slowest was 120km/h. fastest was 180-190km/h. most of the journey 130-140km/h

my friend once told me..on his track days.his gauge reaches up to 130 degrees man..its an endurance race.

high compression engines are hot bro..and rev limit very high some more..if we keep driving hard and always reach the valve lifting point, u can see that the oil temp gauge rises very quickly..

i am not a VTEC user. but i use the same identical engine that applies the valve lifting tech as yours. just dropping my experience

another suggestion would be, try swapping/cleaning your oil temp sensor.

THanks bro for sharing your experience with us. Really appreciate that. Will try out in SIC using fully-syn & see hws the reading goes.

Yes. I am using semi-syn & my friend is using fully-syn. I shall try out full-syn oil.

I ask around & most of them saying that anything more than 120 degrees, consider the oil is burnt & lets say if more than 120 degrees reading & we still continue to track on SIC for few rounds, will this affect our engine?

I'm using a greddy oil cooler and running motul 300v . oil temp normal driving ~80 deg. oil press around 2.2 at idle and 6.5~7 bar when full throttle, about 6 at cruising.

on SIC, my peak oil press is about the same 6~7 bar and oil temps are about 105~108 even after many rounds (continuous hot laps for about 20 laps). I am also running a Koyo radiator. Fitting a test pipe/straight-through de-cat will lean out your air fuel ratio and result in higher temps. It is best to get your ecu reflashed or change to aftermarket computer to regulate air fuel ratios properly especially when you are going SIC as you do not want to run lean / overly hot when you are on the track.

Thanks for sharing the video. It shows that track Oil Temp max limit is 140 & Water Temp max limit is 110. Weather temp is like Msia. It should be a good guide for us....

Really think it's not v safe to have oil & water temps at 140 & 110 respectively. More heat has more chance of engine knock and the heat build up can be damaging to other parts over time...:itsme:

fully synthetic oil will operate at lower temperatures, mine using torco normally running 70 to 90 Celsius, when whack the car max temperature for 110c....if semi oil will higher temp

Asking on behalf on a friend,

He is driving a NSX NA1 Turbo, just rebuild his engine recently and noticed that the oil pressure is very low (0.5 bar during idle). We have changed the oil pump to a new set, bearings, even swap the oil press gauges but it is still produces the same reading. Anyone knows what is the other causes to this symptom?

Also, we noticed that there are bubbles on the engine oil dipstick, googled and it says overfilled engine oil at the crankcase (which we already checked the engine oil level did not exceed the maximum level at the dipstick). We switched to other engine oil but it is still the same.

Appreciate if anyone can provide your experience.
