talk about what overheating will do to 4g92, i want to share my experience..

it happen last year, after about 180,000km of travel, the engine is somehow overheats alot..so i just do the standard checkup, water level, added coolant, change thermostat hoping that it'll be ok..but the problem continued and finally i stuck at UM..after through checkup, i found that the head 'bengkok' becos of the extreme heat..cost me about 700-800 bucks to repair, top overhaul and stuff..

eventhough the engine is perfectly maintained, u also have to really take care of the small2 stuff, cos IMHO, this engine is good (in terms of fc and power) but somehow a little bit delicate..

just my 2 cents

bro masen... mine just hit 180,000km mileage and it seems a lot of small small problems surface... a lot of sound coming out from dunno where la... just curious how does it like when the 'head' is bengkok? does it produced any weird sound before you know the head is bengkok?

Hi hi Kaz, my car is a 2nd hand. Its the version where the number plate is placed on the bumper not on the boot. I love that version, looks way sportier than the newer ones. Like em mitsu cyborg.

I havn't done any mods on the car yet, but it already has pretty nice skirtings which i'll never change. Now thinking of changing my front grill to an empty one without badge and adding strut bars. When my wallet is slightly fatter i'll go lower the car.
Focusing on handling first before power...The engine feels good and responsive as it is now anyway.

u said the plat number is at the bumper... i think the wira u having is a modified version.. normal stardard wira the plat number should be on the boot. Got pics? My 1.6 is UK spec version

nope..so far as i remember it didnt make any weird sound before the engine goes wrong..infact the thing happens after a couple of week of the car last service..the temp. suddenly shot up..

and after that incident that i discovered that the head bengkok (i think 'warped' is more proper word)..even that is waht the mech told me..if not i wud not know about it..

now the engine is ok apart from the rev going up n down when cold starting, but need to watch the temp. constantly..really afraid the engine will blow if its overheats..

ultra racing expensive? i got a 4point front for satria/wira/putra for rm140 w/o installation. and a 3 point rear for satria. also 140. installation rm30 only.. some shop sells them far more expensive. but if u go to batu 3 shah alam. theres 1 exhaust shop called 'kedai exhaust yau yip'. they sell them cheaply coz they buy bulk from ultra racing.
