Hey riggy, u mentioned earlier in dis thread bout running 45psi on d fpr in ur set up...
My set up pretty close 2 urs. Hot bits ext, 2" piping all d way, 1 ctr box n a 'S' muffler at my tail (entirely fr Everco), except 4 hot bits. HKS drop in n d rest stock.

But my fpr i'm still experimenting. Problem is....wen set at 45psi=2 draggy....i mean reeeeally draggy. So i went up bit by bit up 2 50 psi n was fine bout a day or so n it starts 2 pink. Even went up 2 60 psi oso eventually it pinks. Cant go below 50 psi otherwise it'll b 2 rich. So i'm stuck btween 50 n 60 psi.

But wen i rev hard a few times(on d road), pinking stops but comes back after a while. Any idea wats wrong??

lost.......lost........:retarded:

i think you got it upsidedown...going above 50psi means you got very high pressure in the line. Imagine your garden hose, you open the tap half - imagine this to be your fuel pump , you use your thumb to cover half the hole - imagine this to be your regulator. see that the water shoots out stronger but if you cover the hole too much with your thumb, all that comes out is a small little (while strong) spray of water - meaning you got pressure but NO VOLUME. thats whats happening to your ride. What you need is more fuel, too high a pressure will actually give you less. UNLESS, you try opening the tap on full (means an upgraded fuel pump) but still, i found out that i still dont need the high pressure, less is somehow more. you get it? for example, i run 240cc injectors and use a pressure much-much lower than the stock 36psi.

You will NOT be too rich using your regulator below 50psi as firstly, the only mods you got are the exhaust and air filter mods. Stock pressure is around 36psi - so i dont think you'll be running rich. Try the lower pressures, dont always think that higher pressure means more power, unlearn what you have learnt.

your pinking could be that you've got tons of carbon in your combustion chamber due to running too high pressures (or too much fuel making all the unburnt petrol turn to carbon and sit in the chamber - i dont really know - just a wild guess). When you floor the accelrator, the pressure created by the high rpms temporarily clear the chamber of all the soot. hence no more pinking for the moment.

suggest:
1. use lower pressures - try 40psi
2. get your ignition timing adjusted
3. use 97ron petrol as your engine runs best above 95ron - i say this becoz some ppl do use the 92 ron due to high petrol prices nowadays.

regards

O ok.....i guess dat makes perfect sense now. Tanx very much.
I do use 97 ron though. I hear ppl say u could 'reset' ecu on ur own but dunno how. Any ideas?
U said u use 240cc injectors n running lower pressure den stock, wats ur reason?
Wats our stock injectors size anyway?
Sori 4 d many questions coz i still got a lot 2 learn bout my car.
Do u noe of any web site(s) on details of our car? Tq

Reset the ecu by removing the battery terminals and stepping a few times on the brake pedal to drain the ecu/ any electronics in the car of power. leave the terminals off the batt for about 20 mins. thats what is supposedly how you reset the ecu to the default setting. the key word here is 'supposedly'. no guarantees.

240cc injectors are those used for the 4g93 1.8 engines (non turbo ones). stock are somewhere around 180cc. reason is, same theory behind the water hose thingy. now i've got a hose that's huge in size whereas i only need 3/4 the volume. hence i have to use the regulator (the water tap in this case - not the thumb) to bring down the flow to a suitable pressure. However, you should not run larger injectors if you havent done much to your car, pretty pointless if you got so much fueling but no where to actually burn it. Why i can do so is that i've done a lot to my engine already.

a good website for our engine is located at http://www.rpw.com.au it has a product/ engine/model specific guide to protons/mistubishis.

hi guys, Sorry for jump Q ... but I really need it urgently .. hope can help ..
thanks in advance .

Question : may I know what is the local engine 1.6 manual gearbox code number ?? is it same with GTI ??

I need it as soon as possible.. thanks.

1.6 sohc standard injector 182cc, 4g91 210cc, perdana sohc putra gti 240cc....
gsr and 4g61 390cc... but not quite sure about 4g61 n gsr...

Can I ask is a 4g92p Wira auto doing 220km in Rm80(new rate) normal?? mine gluping petrol like siao... original no mod... help me sifu... cannot tahan liao...

rm80 for 220km only..surely ur car makan minyak too much oredi..mine can go approx. 400km in rm60-rm65..but my car still stock in all aspect..and frequently serviced..but if ur car is moded a lil'bit (ie. exhaust sys, air filter, fuel injector and all those lil things), it shud go more than 400km with full tank

yours makan like mad, mine RM80 can go higher, suggest you better go check

i get approximately 430km per rm80. suggest a tuneup - change plugs every 20000km, check your cam and ignition timings, check your airfilter - if its the stock one, make sure its pretty new if its a k&n type, check also if its not full of dirt. make sure your tire pressures alright. try 31 psi front 30 rear.

Just wondering whether changing a K&N air filter drop in type will increase much fuel consumption compared to stock air filter??

I am using a K&N drop in air filter for my 1.6 Wira auto
and I say that to me it won't increase fuel consumption, depends on your right foot mostly

Thanks for the advise shin,
Would also like to know whether servicing the gearbox[auto] will help to improve the response and cut down jerking when changing gears?

 Whoa!!! Now I know I'd been cheated by Proton Service Centre for 13 yrs... FC had been this bad since I bought the car, send it to Proton many times liao, still got the same problems... I suspect they didnt even send my car to KL as they told me b4... There's no tuner or any equipment in Proton Service Centre to tune here... My friend's Satria GTi oso need to send to KL for tuning, I wonder how they tune my car... I sure hope not playing or mess up with the sensors or wat... Gonna find a good tuner here in K.K, Sabah... Any1 know who knows any1 good in tuning 4g92p??

Hi guys,

Im planning to get a 2nd hand satria 1.6m. I was wondering, whats the FC for a stock satria 1.6m?

I heard that Proton stop production for their satria1.6 when the GTI's came out. It should be 1998, if im not mistaken. Why is there still satria 1.6 year 1999 and 2000?

With good maintenance, sure can go over 400km 1 :)
Although my 4G92 is already in its 13th year, it is still running strong as ever

yahs..good service records also counts..and somemore if u did not do any mod, or drives aggresively, sure can reach more then 400km..btw max distance ive gone with full tank is about 490km..town driving (bangi-kajang-putrajaya) eith economy mode.. about 10km/l i guess
