APEXERA Power FC

Hmmmm, I think that there are commanders in engrish but if the tuner does not bother with it then its just a very expensive display unit! nevertheless, I guess Its good to have it. Forces you to learn more about the functions and capabilities.

Phat7, U did mention that GT did your Tune job with the PFC. How was the result? Did they do good tune? Thanks for sharing and posting your comments. This got me interested on the PFC, to see if its really a good bang for the buck.

Noob here........

all known manual is in japanese (i think there was a RX7 english but i'm not sure).

But its a pain to do so with the commander. (almost all tuners (shops or otherwise) dont bother with it).

if in doubt let the shops to do so. I believe there are forums where there's some basics put up but mostly to each own marque.

To all,
Hello every body.

My friend's of friend had a EVO which upgrade to EVO-5,very nice.
So far so good when using stock ecu, no engine check light, abs. light come out.

Finally, he got Apexi, then plug it in and start the engine.

My question is why the engine check light and abs. light come out now ?

I thought the Apexi suppost work like stock ecu and off cause should be better ( can be program ), right!

after installation there should not be any check engine light. under monitor check sensor voltage. if there are any hilights (in red) or voltage reading near 5v then its time to change the sensor. if you friend has the map in softcopy post it here and i'm sure we can contribute.

phat7,
My friend's friend, due to the "Dataloigc" not arrive, so can not do anything.( my friend order from NZ ). He did not order the "hand controller". This FC is from "the box" (new one).
Question to ask, normally, did "the box" come with the "hand controller"?
If no, can my friend use other "hand controller" ( RX7 ) ?

Thanks.

Good to have the datalogit. The only problem is the wait. I waited for a long time but it finally arrived and its very helpful tool. Which type did he order, TYPE 1 or Type 2? The datalogit requires you to have a computer. There is no handheld whatsoever. The heat light amongst others is the "error" light at least in the fd3s it is.

Handcontroller is car specific for older power-fc's but newer units not are pretty much universal. 415x001 and 415n001 are majority handheld model numbers.

i got a fren in sabah having same problem.did ur fren problem solve now?

if sensor readings are close to 5V then the sensor is not working. Do a check sensor and report findings. You can remove warnings all together if you want. I leave knock and injector duty cycles on for safety.

It really depends. I prefer low knock readings but then again knock is very subjective as knock could also mean drivetrain noise. As a rule of thumb- disregard knock readings when off throttle. Keep eye out when in boost , wot - knock readings here will be very important. A couple of things you could do is increase fueling in the affected areas by 2-3%. The powerfc interpolates between fuel cells and averages.

its off then. you tell the ecu not to listen to the 02 sensor but instead input your own parameter for 02 sensor dependant function aka cruise etc.

phat7,

some of my friend use the " broquet " to increase the fuel octane that lower down the knocking. anyone test it before?

With better combustion comes better power. Broquets effect on the fuel are 2 fold. Broquet will reduce the octane appetite of an internal combustion engine thus reducing detonation, pinging and knocking. Broquet also smoothens the flame propagation on ignition giving a more complete burn. A more complete burn means more HP.
