Hey Cipan,

Thanks for the offer.

Btw, i wasnt the one looking for the software....but thx anyway.

Regarding the cable, can you send me the diagram/ pinout. It would be easier for me as i am located in jb at the moment.....

Are there ppl actually selling the cdr and clone cable? damn.... mutiara sells the real thing, but the price is kinda steep......

Btw, do u know if the rotary settings 2-8-a will work for 4g13 year 2000 mitsu ecu?
Someone else recommended 2-8-b but that was for the newer 4g15 ecu(92 pin) also running on map and single coil....

You emphasised FREE many times. In my eyes, you being in this business and giving out free info shows unselfish character and great love for cars. But thats what were all here for right.....Will drop by ur place once i got all this mess figured out for a road tune...

thx,
140dB

Rotary settings :
2 - 8 - 0

4 cylinder, 1 coil distributor using map sensor.

I'm not making business here, but what I did was to
help members. But I don't understand why Drax Tuned Chip
thread was deleted for reason of commercial post.... ?????
I don't even have a workshop, but I have loads of know-how,
experience and loads of equipments too.
Don't believe?.... come over and have a look at what I have
in store....

Great to have a forummer helping out another... thats the power of Internet.

Cipan, what's your take on the Ultimate eManage? good investment?

New car? You actually need nothing on a standard setup. Fit all those gadget just for fun and show off...
Maybe a little improvement. Tweak the dyno machine and presto..... 50% power increase on a std na car.... (Trick of the trade). Unless the dyno owner really honest with it.
That's the reason why different dyno machine gives different readings.... but you actually have only 1 powerplant.

A dyno machine cannot be tweaked. The difference in hp is due to different measuring standards. I.e. SAE corrected, power at wheel, power at engine, DIN standards etc.

even if the hp really can be tweaked. It is irrelavant. At least you will know whether the modifications you made did actually make more power then before you did it. The final hp is not important. A dyno will confirm the after and before hp. This will let you know the improvements made by the modification and whether its worthwhile or not for the money and effort spent!

Dude... how can this be true? Lets say I go to a tuner with dyno, told him that my car is bone stock. Well, he invites me to get to the dyno and baam! I got reading A.... Without me knowing, he can adjust some parameters to paint a negative picture to the graph.

Then, after a mod (exhaust) is being fixed, (assuming that exhaust in actual fact allows you to squeeze 2bhp max etc), the car gets another dyno session and by normalising the parameters on the dyno machine, the session will give a black/white improvement of 5bhp. In actual fact, the 1st session had -3bhp and the overall picture looks promising!!

From what I was told by a tuner, dyno proof can be easily manipulated by simple throttle play.... you are simply at the mercy of the sincerity of the tuner himself.

Personally, the best way to see "true" results is for you to go to a neutral site and dyno the car. Then go to your mechanic and let him do whatever mods. Bring the car back to the neutral site for dyno again with/without your tuner blessings and see what happens:regular_smile: I am sure the gains wont be as colourful

I am not saying that these mods dont give gains, but I have to agree with the other forummer that there is an extent of "freeplay" in these dyno results.

But what I am interested to know from you is that do you really believe that dyno sessions CANNOT be tweaked? If this is true, then the 2 tuners I spoke to about this lied to me in the face....

dyno tweekz

"do you really believe that dyno sessions CANNOT be tweaked? If this is true, then the 2 tuners I spoke to about this lied to me in the face...."

ah...
to be lied to in the face...:shcokedcamo:

Dyno sessions CAN be tweaked! There are methods/techniques when dyno-ing to artificially lower or raise the hp reading.

However, the Dyno Machine itself usually 'CANNOT' be tweaked so easily as to give a higher reading. Its not like u just key in the required result on the keyboard and the machine prints out a graph......

my opinion based on dyno dynamics.

ps- Yo cipan, the rotary settings 2-8-0 is actually for which car? I cant seem to find the cross reference to any vehicle/engine in the manual...

I got the same prob as well but on VR4 220ps engine. But, the CE light only comes on once a while esp if engine is hot or car is stuck in a traffic jam. Couple of friends told me could be a dirty AFM or almost kaput AFM. I got a spare VR4 AFM to test tmw.

cipan: Where is your place? PM me ur contact number.

may i know if with the software & cable will we be able to tune the setting or its some sort of protected by password from Greddy?
