the car was wrapped up nicely to spray the roof and a little bit of the rear bumper with black.

not much pics cuz by the time i was there, the car was already wrapped up. anyway, since yesterday was a public holiday, i went again to check out on the progress. the roof was sprayed and wrapped now to spray the rest of the car.

the little bit of black in the rear bumper i was talking bout, not so visible from this shot though
all rear view as i couldn't go in.
this is the guy working on my car, if it turns out to be good n u like his work on my car, i can pm u the details of this shop and guy. hope he doesnt mind being on the Internet. haha
my spoiler, sidemirrors door handles and grill still not sprayed.

what do u think of it? the paint guy recommended this, i kinda like it too.

i tried to see if can see the crystal effect but guess the lightings weren't good enough and so is my phone's camera.
this is the Cosmic Black roof but only partially open.
spent half day in the shop and had to go back, so one last pic of the day as i was walking away from my ride.
so ppl, how do u like it? will be going to the shop again later hopefully to snap more pics.

fishpimp, thanks for the pics. just to confirm is it magnesium blue? it looks really nice on te37. but imo, it wouldnt suit my rims because the the spokes are not as big as the te37, therefore the effect wouldn't be there. thank you for the pics and time. i appreciate u showing me this wheel colour on a white dc2, its as close as it could be for my car.
i've decided on a dark grey for the rims. just trial and error as what madman said, painting rims isnt really that expensive. so let's wait n see.
just came back from the paint shop, a few more pics but nothing much has been done. anyway here they are:

and my sidemirrors ready to be fixed on Monday 19/9/11 together with the spoiler and rest of the parts.
guess Monday the car will be put together and then spray the wheels. Then maybe on Wednesday can get back my car. Hopefully...
I will not be going back to the shop just to keep the remaining changes a surprise to me. haha.
stay tuned!! Will post more pics of the end result. till then still willing to hear if any more minor changes that can be done to make this car look better.
i'm already thinking what's next for this project. It has to be a IM and TB. It has been giving me problems n was supposed to do it but then because of the accident had to postpone it. so have to do that and also check on the rich fumes from the exhaust pipe. but what's next i have no idea yet? guess it must be SAVING MORE MONEY.

change of plans, i am not changing the colour of the rims. leaving it as it is. I am thinking of smtg else, maybe like changing to a 17'' when my tyre wears out. till then, just use it as it is. i went to the shop just now to confirm this with my paint guy. well, that's only a reason. i actually missed my car dy. so, i had a look at my car and there were no progress. they haven't stated putting things back. i didnt ask him as he was busy talking with a new customer.
anyone can tell me if there is a reason for them to hold back now?

lol, i just started this project and its only the paint work that has been done. anyway, as u requested, its RM2k for the paint job inside out and RM1.1k for the IM and TB. That's all ii've done so far. next maybe i'll bring down the engine but that's gonna cost a lot and it is gonna take me a LONG, LONG time to save up. one problem i have is that i cant save up. so, what i have in mind now is for the engine rebuild, i'm gonna buy the stuff needed everytime i have money. then, at the end of the day, when i have everything in hand, i'll send to the workshop to bring down the engine and do whatever is needed. i wouldnt be suprised if u finish ur project before me even if u only start at the end of the year. lol..... what do u intend to do actually?

Hi ddv_nk12,
I see that your painter has applied the clear coat layer as well. After spraying, has your painter resurface a.k.a polish (not sure which word to use in English) your car? This is because during the spraying process in the oven, there might be some uneven paint sprayed on the car, hence your painter needs to even the surface before fixing all the parts (headlamps, taillamps, side signals, door panels, etc) back. Give them time bro, rushing him end up you might not get the result you wanted. It took me 8 working days in my case, inside out too.
p/s: looking forward to see it in future TT :)
my experience with rims colour is, with small rim ilk e15" dark colour make it looks smaller
if you have huge rims, then maybe different.
the clearance between rims and fender or mudguard makes all different in appearance

when i think about it, it true what u said, darker colour will make the rims look smaller. i appreciate ur input bro. i'm now thinking of getting a 17'' lightweight rim. i like the work rezax. but i still have lotsa time to think about it as my tyres are still new.

still ntg has been done. the paint guy told me that my car, quite a lot of cement was used, so it needs to really dry properly before doing other things. i'm very impatient but at the same time i want him to do a good job. so told him to take his time, no hurry.
