Need advice: 4g93 SOHC auto 'semput'

Ok. ECU last thing on the list. If say that my ECU can be reflash, is it gonna be a waste to reflash it? Or can it be reversible?

You can always get it remapped again if you are not satisfied

ECU price depends, too old and some of the IC, capacitor start to leak then headache also....

i think i'm capable of replacing the capacitors and IC (if I can get the IC here). caps can get from Jalan Pasar. a few shops selling japanese electronic parts there. been wanting to check my ECU if there's any leakage. too lazy to get it out of the dash.

Actually can get. Mine years ago had problem, took out and my ex colleague check and found 2 leaking. He bought some replacement but it was too late, seems leak and damaged the PCB already by the time I felt the problem:bawling:

That's why I want to open and check the ECU. Earlier in my post I mentioned that the battery short circuit on the hood of the car and safety cut out all the power. I hope there's no leak and if there is, it hasn't got to the PCB yet.

Will open and check mine if I have the time this weekend. Hopefully there's no leak.

Usually if ECU still running fine, if have leak will be stain type leak. If leak out and get to PCB may have problem already....

just wanna check coz I don't really know how old the half cut is. Plus the short circuit from the battery so a bit worried if that will effect the ECU. :bawling:
 
If short circuit blow fuse only, more over yours was outside between battery with bonnet, right? As far as I know, ECU more scare of spike in current....
 
sanekit, if you ever want to go for MIVEC route, I have a 7035 rechipped MIVEC ECU for sale :biggrin:

Without the wiring and cylinder head, the MIVEC ECU is useless for your ride even if its possible

To get MIVEC activated, just need the head, wiring and ECU

Head complete with wiring will cost me around RM3k minimum.. Will keep that in mind for future upgrade. :driver:

Yup, for different wiring etc., different ECU is useless. The time when my original ECU for 2.0L konk, my mechanic found one for 1.6L one to use first. The fuel feed was actually heavier, lots of black soot and really under powered until I got back a 2.0L ECU fitted back....:driver:
