its an open market, ppl can price their items as they wish. ZTH has no rule stating that one cannot price their items to their liking.. i can even buy a turbo timer for rm200, use it for 6 months and list it for sale for RM500. if got people buy then they do so willingly. however, if i try to cheat or lie stating that the turbo timer is worth RM500 then its a different story. also, buyers can offer a price.. if you list item for RM300, i offer RM150.. then just say offer too low..thats it. no need talk so much. again its an open market.. sellers are free to list items at whatever price they want, buyers are free to offer whatever price they want.

open market.. seller sell items at the price they want, buyer buy the items willingly.. the moment there's fraud..then its a different story.. i.e. selling imitation items as original..thats more serious IMO.

what kind of things do you consider second hand that is good as new and rare to find... and that would make the price still the same or even higher?

no matter what, the price wont go apparel with 100%
the max once used is 70% margin of its original price...
no doubt.....
if you go u.k., aussie, u.s. new zealand, they will fuck your consumer act price violation.....
stuff that is mechanical can consider reach around 70% however if eletronic's gadget it wont go beyond that...the best would probaly around 50% margin from RSP.......
i learn it under my fren who is consumer aware....

there is also many good seller there
and i manage to buy some new stuff with really good price

no need angry wan... if u ask a guy who drives a skyline, he may tell u that some parts must order from japan, so he buy 2nd hand cause faster n price may be near the same...

u'll notice that certain original 2nd hand parts which r rare may b quite high priced, eg. original type r badge.

although i do not agree wif high priced 2nd hand goods, supply n demand is a fact... if someone supply n someone agree to buy at high price, then it's expensive.

and to quote ur example of cars, look at the price of ae86, 180sx; 20 year old car selling at rm30,000. 180sx selling at rm64,000. these r facts bro...

i was actually looking 4 a 180sx but i don't agree wif the inflated price but wat to do? no one wants to reduce the price... so i used the money to do up my honda...

Yes, as a moderator I come across many sellers who price their 2nd hand items way too hi (sometimes as hi as new item).

But as I said, if its expensive, just move on to the next post.

We don't live in a Communist country, where everything is controlled by the goverment.

We live in democratic capitalist country. (unless goverment wants to control price of performance parts like rice, sugar and salt, etc.)

And some of you must realise the fact that Car modding is an expensive hobby (should be considered a luxury hobby).

So if any of you who wants to mod their cars without spending alot of money, then I think you need to go out more often and get in touch with the real world.

Basically, car modding cost alot of money. Spend wat you can afford.

yaa..agreed..we can compare from 1 seller to other seller or to the chop shop..most of them can nego their price..in fact some of them will lower their after certain period of time..

but beware of imitations and of course some 2nd hand items could be in low quality too..

for me it's simple..wait for right time and enuf money..compare price between sellers and few chop shops..then buy la..

Frm a sellers point of view:- "Since my potential buyer is going to nego with me, my as well hike up the price and let him nego until negro la... at least i must not lose that much la"

Frm a buyers point of view :- "Since i know that this seller dont have a fix price, so can try to haggle till the cows come home."

You see... its a fair trade depending on how you want to look at things.... conclusion; if you think its not right... don't go condamn people (not nice la), just DON'T BUY... Like i have said earlier... it is all common sense.... :cool:

Some sellers here have the tendency of not knowing or at least researching the price of parts. The secondhand parts in Malaysia are not really second hand but rather thord or fourth hand liau. In reality i would take my business to a shop and buy new but i come here to buy cheap parts. Thats the truth. It also depends on how well you know your stuff before negotiating with seller.Most of the parts i buy here are items that cannot be bought separately eg solenoids, sensors etc. To fork out some of the prices asked is ridiculous but then we have uninformed buyers willing to pay. Education is important.
