Well bro it will be the same because we will need to remove your entire module and sensor and replace it with Radiostar. Yes with Radiostar you signal lamp will flash when the doors are open. :)

radiostar alarm has many functions that is programmeable and can be turned 'on' or 'off' anytime. Signal light flashing when door(s) opened is one of them. By default, it is on. Meaning if you open either bonet, door or trunk the hazard lights flash. If you don't want it to flash it can be turned off too! :)

integramania dude.. the remote start can it be reprogram longer than 10sec b4 the engine actually start? coz my honda havent finish u know the check engine status.. normally it will beep2 6 times.. now bout 3 beeps engine start redi.. can reprog?

out of topic.. last time u ask the EG one piece projector headlamp RM700 rite? i checkout at WRC light shop in sunway selling RM1k.. crazy man.. PM me bout it.. thanx

I will be getting my car this week and i am thinking of changing the current alarm which is cheetah with card immo; and seriously i was looking at the Clifford G5 which would cost RM2k - RM6k till i saw this thread. I think you guys have a great product which i wouldn't mind considering but i have a couple of questions about RadioStar:

1) Any idea if the Cheetah immo is a normal immo or Engine Management System immo? I was reading the difference from Captor's site and would like to know more. Is it compatible with RadioStar?

2) If i would to retain the Cheetah immo (card), do i still have to use the cheetah remote? if yes, means i would have 2 remotes.

3) At the same time, i am interested in getting Captor but i read that captor has built-in alarm system with remote; does that mean i will be carrying another remote? If cheetah and captor requires individual remote then i will end up with 3 remotes which i hope not.

4) Is it possible to add-on tilt sensor to radiostar and how much? would like to safeguard my rims and at the same time avoid being towed, as thereotically i believe the shock sensor would not be triggered when the car is lifted by a tow-truck.

5) How about proximity sensor, possible as add-on? which would you recommend and cost.

6) About the auto-arm/passive arm in the event the driver forgot to lock the car, is it possible to auto lock and arm instead of just arming? Passerby might be tempted to open the doors when they see a car not locked, hence having it auto locked and armed would be great.

7) RPM or on-brake auto lock (not arm)?

8) Is the communication between the car and remote continuos or it will only trigger the remote when the car is being tampered? This is related to the "Query Function" feature in RadioStar as i am living on the 12th floor and my car would be in Basement1 so i am wondering if the remote has a signal bar (continuos) or manually we have to check for signal.

9) I was reading in this thread that one of the customer had problems with the ECU after installing radiostar but back to normal after reset; if i do change ECU after installing radiostar, do i have to re-visit the installer to rewire or etc.?

10) Last question (i hope), i think its going to be hard but how would you compare RadioStar to Clifford G5 IntelliGuard 850 when it comes to features (not price lahh of course)?

I know its a lot of question and i would really appreciate if you could reply all. Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers!

Hi MaQuereau,

The remote start 'idle' time have 2 options that is programmeable. By default it is set to 3 seconds before cranking. You can change to 10 seconds idle time anytime if you like. The steps to do it can be found in the manual.

Pls feel free to contact us if you are not sure k? :)

Hi lazzy,

Thanks for considering radiostar

Please find out answers in blue

1) Any idea if the Cheetah immo is a normal immo or Engine Management System immo? I was reading the difference from Captor's site and would like to know more. Is it compatible with RadioStar?

Radiostar is compatible with any brands of immo. We’ve had many customers that have installed radiostar alarm with immo. Everything works fine. Just a point to note, if you put radiostar alarm + immo the remote start won’t work.
We are not sure whether Cheetah is a normal immo or EMS immo. I think the best person to ask is the distributor of Cheetah.

2) If i would to retain the Cheetah immo (card), do i still have to use the cheetah remote? if yes, means i would have 2 remotes.

Yes, you will still need the card in order to star the car

3) At the same time, i am interested in getting Captor but i read that captor has built-in alarm system with remote; does that mean i will be carrying another remote? If cheetah and captor requires individual remote then i will end up with 3 remotes which i hope not.

captor has 2 types of design. By itself it is not an alarm. It only serves as a tracking system. From our understanding, 1st type of captor is a unit on its own without remote. Therefore, if you get this type you won’t have to carry another remote. The 2nd type of captor is built into normal Proton OEM alarm. If you are getting this type you’ll have to carry the OEM remote and radiostar remote.

4) Is it possible to add-on tilt sensor to radiostar and how much? would like to safeguard my rims and at the same time avoid being towed, as thereotically i believe the shock sensor would not be triggered when the car is lifted by a tow-truck.

Shock sensor will definitely trigger if the car is being lifted by a tow truck. It will also protects your wheels. We can show you that in our demo.

5) How about proximity sensor, possible as add-on? which would you recommend and cost.

If you’d like to add on additional sensor it is possible but doing that with King Dragon or King Leopard means you’ll have to run parallel with the shock sensor. We won’t recommend that.

6) About the auto-arm/passive arm in the event the driver forgot to lock the car, is it possible to auto lock and arm instead of just arming? Passerby might be tempted to open the doors when they see a car not locked, hence having it auto locked and armed would be great.

Good question! Radiostar has many programmeable functions that you can change anytime if you like. This is what makes radiostar very unique from other alarms. One of the programmeable function is to choose whether you want the alarm system to lock the doors or just arm the car during Passive Arming. You can interchange anytime. Cool??

7) RPM or on-brake auto lock (not arm)?

Once you have disarm the car and start the engine, the first time you step on the brake the alarm system will lock all the doors. When you turn off the ignition the doors will be unlocked.

You can check thru query at anytime to find out whether your car is within range. If it is, any trigger will cause the car and remote to sound. Would to add 1 more point here. Sometimes the query mode might not represent the actual range. Actual range can be longer than query range because the signal sent from the car to remote is stronger and has higher penetration.

9) I was reading in this thread that one of the customer had problems with the ECU after installing radiostar but back to normal after reset; if i do change ECU after installing radiostar, do i have to re-visit the installer to rewire or etc.?

Most of the time a lot of the problems are not coming from the alarm system but at radiostar we are always willing to help to find out the cause although it is not caused by the alarm system. We are always willing to use our experience to help. By right, you don’t have to revisit the installer after changing ECU unless the mechanic mess up the wiring.

10) Last question (i hope), i think its going to be hard but how would you compare RadioStar to Clifford G5 IntelliGuard 850 when it comes to features (not price lahh of course)?

We are very confident that we can out perform them in features. :)

my car is always park beside a bus stop. Assuming the setting for shock sensor is the lowest. would the alarm go off if a bus pass by?..would it be possible to disable the shock sensor??.. or could i set the alarm to go off without having the alarm sound..mayb just trigger the remote would do??

Bro it all depends if the bus is running very loud I would presume that it will....but for radiostar, the siren will only go off once and will send a signal to your remote. It will not continue blarring like the others. It will only do so if it senses another shock within 10 secs. So u don't need to worry about your battery running flat.....

disable the shock sensor well no you can't....this is a safety protection in case you switch it off then you forgot to turn it back on then your car will not be protected. So its always on. Maybe it you set it to low it will not get triggered. But if you set it to high then chances are it will be triggered.

no lar, been reading a lot of alarms past few weeks; would like to make the most out of my money spent :)

hi lonewolf,

Just to add to integramania's response....

Loudness of a sound is not a good justification whether it will trigger the alarm. You see, inside the shock sensor there's a special device to detect minor vibration. This tiny device has got its vibration frequency. So, say if a loud car pass by it might not trigger the alarm coz the sound frequency that the exhaust generates is not the same as the vibration frequency of shock sensor. Meaning that no 'resonance' effect. On the other hand, a car with less loud exhaust MIGHT trigger the shock sensor because the frequency it produced is in resonance with the shock sensor.

Anyway, like what Integramania said. Even if the alarm is triggered by accident it will only sound once. Therefore, won't drain car battery.

If I'm not mistaken Option 1 is the ARM Button and Option 2 is the DISARM button.

It's in the manual on the page before... :)

Hi allic,

Please make sure you enter the right 'function' to change the options. The number of chirp sound will confirm which function you are entering.

Pls feel free to contact us if you are not sure.
