RB20det parts interchangeble with RB26dett?

Errr... 86 mm pistons in RB20 cannot lar.... you'll hit the water channels in the block!

cool, didnt know you could put anything bigger then 82mm.

Agree that the RB20 is really tough, am using an early model RB20, been abused, boosted to 1.1 bar, head gasket worn, whacked and whacked again...and the engine is still running well, mind you the engine is probably from a early model ceffy turbo so were looking at yr 1988-1990.

Cheers

wastegate? why would u need a wastegate.. just use back your standard actuator

would i need a downpipe??

by downpipe i assume you mean dump? if you want better performance then yes, a 3" one would be good if your budget allows

Ohhhh yeaaaaaa........ trust me on this one... it'll make a world of difference. Am using a HKS one myself.... and it is so much better than the standard cast one. No comparison man!

how much would it cost?? and where can i get it from? thanks!

Yo!

I think you can try around the chop shops... like I did. Mine is a real slick looking HKS one. If you can't get one then perhaps you can try to get one made instead. There are a number of really good fabricators around Subang who can do them for you... but the quality ofthe welding might not be quite the same...

Chceck out the attached pic... the one on the left is using the hks and the one on the right is the standard cast item...

Nice one here !

Tony,
Here's is a much better downpipe if you are thinking of fabricating one. Let's do two of
these, I take care of the top and bottom flange and you go get the piping done?.

fabricating one can cost you a fair bit. you can get used hks ones from chop shops for much less... the hks one is not too hard to find..

anyone have these available pls update too..

cheers

The HKS one does not look like it has a separate waste pipe
out of the flange at the turbo and then rejoined just before the
second flange like the one shown in the link. Comparing the two
different designs, which one be the better?. What the going price
for a used HKS downpipe?.

The HKS one does have the separate waste pipe that plumbs back...
This type would be the best flowing one, if you can open your stock one and compare it wth the hks or any other after market ones then you will clearly see why.
price for used one can be as around 250 to 350...
i dont want to spoil the price so this is just an average...

Oh ok, so the HKS one does have a separate waste pipe. I agree that this
design does allow better flow over the stock one but would be
second to one with an external waste gate. The price you indicated
is a reasonable, anyone got one for sale?.

wah...someone found one oredy...so cheap!!! i'm still looking... hiahhh :(

olskool,
If I ever come across one that's for sale I will let you know.
