Regulate boost.

Hello everyone. I was just thinking.. how do people regulate their boost to as low as 0.3bar-0.4bar? by using external wastegates? from what i read from some American forums, they use an external wastegate with a 7psi spring. what does that mean? if i'm not wrong, manual boost controllers can only increase boost right?

I'm only trying to learn. People please share your knowledge. Thank you.

what they mean is they use external w/gate with a softer spring rate inside the w/gate.
this way,ur gate will open up sooner thus lower boost.why want to lower ur boost...hehehe

oh...so can the external wastegate can be adjust? and how come i don't see anyone mention about different spring rates for waste gates especially the sellers?

and i just wanna learn only larr...i'm not running a turbo yet.. but very interested to do so..haha..

is not adjust actually..is the spring pressure..
example : if u're using 8.702psi/0.6bar spring inside your wastegate...so when the pressure reach tat amount, the valve will open letting the air release to atmosphere...

sellers do not mention i think because most of the ppl looking for 1bar spring pressure and is already come common, so they don bother to ask if u didn't insist..

hahaha... i got research... but then... i shy to ask the sellers about this.. because i'm not gonna buy wastegates anyway... just wanna learn.. hehehe... thank you guys..

one more question, so thailand wastegates or any other wastegate replicas wont have any spring options as low as 0.2-0.4bar, right? what if we dismantle the wastegate and cut the spring? would it ruin the wastegate? as far as i know, if the length is changed spring rate changes too.

by cutting the spring, i dunno if it wil work or not..but i thought the spring rate gonna be same as suspension tat u need to cut the whole round but not as much as u like...and also u need to do measurement on the spring pressure to know tat when is the valve gona open..

if u buy thailand TiaL wastegate, i think can change into any spring rate available at ORi TiaL tat can be buy from shop...
