Review: Q8 Oils

mr extol63, it is best for u to use the q8 semi-advance 10w/40 4L. Its a semi-synthetic base oil. Eventhough the viscosity is lower than the one that u usually use, but it also eliminates carbon deposits and your engines becomes more quite....

am using total quartz 5000SL, 15W50 mineral oil, changed every 5000km. mileage at 125,000km. a e36 BMW 325i, inline-6, 1994 model


was using mobil 1 full syn before the change to Total, less than a year ago.

what's the best q8 oil & grade in my case? if semi-syn, what's the recommended oil change interval?

i'm driving waja 1.6....stendet.....milage 60k km. which type of Q8 should be suit for me? always rev until 5.5-6k rpm......where can i get the juice?.....hanging around kelantan&terengganu area.

i went to buy Q8 T650 in sunway recently but the 'tauke' said T650 is no more in the market....already absolete i supposed...
so i bought the Q8 ADVANCE semi-syn priced at RM89.
according to the 'tauke' Q8 ADVANCE is the replacement for T650...

Just changed Q8 Adv Semi yesterday at Penang, feel the engine a little bit 'heavy'. Taukeh said the price increased again, it is RM90 now. Omg, with workmanship RM20, Oil filter RM10, total RM120 for an oil change, bloody expensive.

Why 'heavy'? I'm doubt the mechanic overfill the engine oil. He pour in the oil until the max mark. He ran the engine for 5 minutes, and check the engine oil level, i can see that it is drop a little bit, slightly below max mark. Then he pour some oil so that it reach max level.

When the engine totally cool, i check the engine oil level, notice that it over max indication around half-cm. It is a lot to me.

By the way, anyone know how to take out the 'extra' engine oil? I'm doubt it make my Wira more sluggish.

Q8 Semi should be ok for wira....some workshops charge rm10 only for labor...maybe urs is abit high-class....:_:

to take out the extra oil, u need to drain out lo.....wat oil u r using before tis?

at first i also feel the same way....but after the first thousand km or so, that heavy feeling has gone...top-end acceleration improved....from 100 to 140 kmh really quick...
try to give it sumtime to make the 'magic' work....

hi.. u can go to local work garage at klang. this garage is using only Q8 oil for all his customer. semi-sin is about rm90. try to used it, ull will know the different.. much better than other brand.:_:

try it.. much more better u will not regret.. i only used satria 1.3. believed it or not my car can reach top speed easily.... just using semi-sin..:X-:
