Toyota MRS / MR2 spyder

JB has 2 spyder with varis C hood. (vented)

mine is clean OEM look. bought just under RM1K used.
 
oic....argh...u r so lucky that can found a used ....
i would be grateful if any 1 got a used carbon bonnet or OEM look also can ....
I plan to mod the car next year , tis year will jus touch on Exhaust , filter and rim ..

handling like a walk in the park for the driver. ricoh racing discontinued the turbo kit as many owners now goes on making own hybrid bolt on turbos & some showed impressive numbers.

i have pictures of the said ricoh turbo kit (someone bought it in US).
very nice & bling!!

the tyres in video was already losing a bit traction but nice to see the showey style drive & the FLAMES!!

Yeah..the Japan GT Apexera MRS also had flames.
But seem to get smaller flame year after year.
They seem to be getting tuning better.

the Japan GT300 cars get over ten years of 3SGTE knowledge.
for full monster boost; cast block like the 3S still the best most effective for track.

we MR-S get puny 1ZZ sportcar enjoyment ; not mind bolgling boost performance ler

There is an 2000 yr white MR-S with Do-Luck kit yet to be sold. Looks hot.

Chances are to get someone who is willing to release theirs is slim (m'sia or Sg)

:sad_smile: well force fed induction almost died in KL during the last trip... ask MICK! by the way face lift lights installed with DAMD eyelids.... check it out when yer down south!!

Are there any MRS (2ZZGE engined) with LSD, hardtop and 6 speed manual / 6 speed SMT available in KL? How to tell the different editions like V Edition?

No MRS (2ZZGE) toyota import at all/never officially offered. My guess there will never (as to date) be one offical import. there is however a fleeting rumour of one down south now. :) 2ZZGE MRS is very rare car, very rare worldwide too. it an exclusive ownership. :wink:

there is one 6 pd SMT 1ZZ dark grey/gunmetal in KL.

LSD is an option to buyers when MRS is officially sold. Being grey imported to this region, my guess most dealers probably wont even know.

In japan, MRS is offered B Edition, S Edition & V Edition.
B Edition (manual/SMT) is where a lot of trimming is excluded, steel wheels, no frunk intended for those who may opt for aftermarket items to fit for track

S Edition (manual/SMT) is generally what most of us get around.

V edition (manual/SMT) ; leather seats; a few extra cosmetics trimmings etc (mostly appearence)

All are 1ZZ. engine specs was post earlier on this thread.
There is no 6sp manual YET i know locally in KL. (i'm hoping to upgrade mine)

pricing? I guess you may havta look around for quotes . (MT~states some 135K; someone recently got a yr 2000 for 118K. ) Threre could be some who may be selling a pre-owned for a just a shade little less.

they way i look at it; depending on condition of car. Hope info helps

How to tell if there are LSD in the car or not visually?
So those that in M'sia are all 1ZZ with 5 speed manual, 5 speed SMT and 6 speed SMT? Which is a better option?

Does it all comes with hardtop? Anyone seen any white ones around?
 
2000 -2002 manuals are all 5 speed

2003 onwards manuals comes with LSD as an option from toyota factory. pre 2003 dont at all unless previous owner slaps in one.

the same with SMT (on LSD) . LSD can not be visually seen unless driven, chances are slim for pre 2003 to have one. there is a couple of owners locally who fitted LSD into theirs.

hardtop is also an option in japan.

between manual & SMT ; its matter of preference.

between 5 speed & 6 speed letme quote SC forumer;

We did these calculations in another post. Even with 245/45/16 tires you would need to shift twice before you get to 60mph with a 6-speed. With a 5speed you can hit 60mph with just one shift.

So the 5-speed is better for 0-60 runs. A tall 1st gear is best for drag racing.

But the 6-speed in better for accelerating at higher speeds because the shorter gearing makes it easier for the low horsepower motor to continue accelerating while the tall 5th gear in the spyder is just a cruising gear.

the 6-speed they were refering to was the 2ZZ celica into MRS. not the stock 6 speed MRS from 2003 onwards
 
saw a silver one with only the hard top and its an SMT.

koolspyder u wanna upgrade urs to 6-speed???

there is one lying around 03 6-speed tranny originally from MRS :_:

kidding only. i know u got ur 6-speed already.

V-Spec = if u intend to use it as an everyday car ro drive in & out of the city, get the SMT! u can basically upgrade to anything the market can offer for the engine and as well as the clutch, clutch cover & flywheel.

but if u plan to change to 2ZZ, u must get a manual cause even the mat salleh can't device an in-genius way to synchronise the 2ZZ and the SMT.

plus get the 6-speed. why? cause the car will make u feel there is always another gear to shift-up and fuel economy if totally unmatch by other cars.
