bucket seat is  (even if its only for show now)

If it does come in (under RM120K~my guess) as it would / should be in Honda Fit, Toyota Scion category, Hmmm I book one!! Who knows? esp parallel imports like impul ya di ya das are bringing almost anything under the sun.

B)

i really doubt this nissan sports compact will be priced in the region of 120K. i'd estimate a parallel importer to bring in this car in the region of RM 150 to RM180K. too beautiful to be so cheap.

i've seen one renault clio RS somewhere in mont kiara. beautiful compact car and VERY LOUD!! it was in trade plate so possibly it was being transported to naza or so.

Clio RS is V6 mid enjin right?

The 120K price guess "could" be without all the gadgets /accessories. But it a wish anyway.

body looks like renualt.

Hopefully nissan will give it proper turbocharged muscle to back its look.

Nissan Sport Concept Brings Nissan Sports Thinking To
Small Car Segment in New York Auto Show Debut

The Nissan Sport Concept, which will make its public world debut at the 2005 New York International Auto Show, is the latest in a series of dynamic performance/youth concept vehicles following the Nissan Actic and Nissan AZEAL concepts.
The Sport Concept is a dynamic three-door hatchback with a dramatic four-seat interior. It offers the look and feel of a sports tuner car, yet is conceived as an affordable, attainable vehicle for buyers entering the new car market for the first time.
“The story behind the development of the Sport Concept, AZEAL and Actic is that Nissan is thinking big about the small car segment,” said Jack Collins, vice president, product planning, Nissan North America, Inc. “With these three design explorations, we’re focusing on how we can bring Nissan’s heritage of innovation, sportiness and driving pleasure to a category of vehicles that traditionally lack design excitement and strong visual appeal.”
“The Nissan Sport Concept, like the AZEAL and Actic before it, is first and foremost a showcase of future thinking, yet it is also a car that would be right at home in Nissan showrooms in the not-too-distant future,” said Collins. “Nissan has a strong global lineup of compact enthusiast vehicles, including the March, Cube, Tiida, Note and Sentra SE-R, and, in the Nissan 350Z, one of the world’s most desirable sports cars. The new Nissan Sport Concept fuses the best of both worlds.”
The exterior of the Nissan Sport Concept combines shapes and forms that are both geometrical and mechanical in feel, creating a sense of acceleration and kinetic energy. The dynamic fender forms give the special Pearl White-painted body a look of pure, almost animal performance. Its athletic roofline is marked by a large rear roof-mounted spoiler, while its bold surface composition, robust fender character lines, deep front spoiler and side sills, and large wheels and tires provide an animated, video game-like stance.
The body construction utilizes both metal and carbon-fiber composite components. The 20-inch six-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels feature a machined and lustrous paint finish surface treatment. The Sport Concept’s headlights and rear combination lights utilize small lamps with multi-layered reflectors.
“The Nissan Sport Concept may be small dimensionally but it is large in its dynamic energy – aggressive, highly functional and definitely street-wise,” said Collins.
The interior of the Sport Concept is designed to fit four adults comfortably, yet with an emphasis on the front two seats – with every element of the cockpit existing to enhance the vehicle’s engaging driving experience.
The deep, body-wrapping front bucket seats are covered in Wolf Gray leather with double-layered pearl suede inserts and feature formed head restraints and integrated 4-point seat belts. The instrument panel includes integrated tachometer and gauges and a distinctive center cluster. The Sport Concept interior also offers a three-spoke steering wheel and solid-appearance center console with the emergency brake lever integrated into the console lid.
In the rear of the cabin, independent rear seat cushions, also covered in a combination of leather and suede, offer true four-place seating.

Like in front, the 4-point seat belts are integrated into the seats. Other features include center console-mounted support grips and a large blue-cone speaker and woofer located in the rear parcel shelf.
“The Nissan Sport Concept is as close to performance art for the street as you can get – modern, cool, ready to run,” said Collins. “When it comes to the next wave of small car design, a SHIFT_ is about to be made. And Nissan is making it.”

Nissan 'Type R' Is Ready For Action
Remember the Almera GTi? It's back! These are the first pictures of Nissan's sensational new Sport Concept - the maker's answer to Honda's class-leading Civic Type R - which made its debut at this week's New York Motor Show

With striking side skirts and wild wings, it's the missing link in the firm's eagerly awaited small family car range. Nissan top brass have long hinted that there was a third model on the way, to sit alongside the Qashqai soft-roader and Tone compact-MPV, both of which are earmarked to start production in 2006. And the Sport Concept is it - the road-going version will replace the three-door variant of the current Almera from late next year.

The car also proves Nissan is aiming for a dramatic change of image with the last of its new trio. The Tone's practical interior and traditional hatchback styling mean it will take most sales, while the Qashqai is set to cater for those buyers who crave both individuality and 'lifestyle' flexibility. That's left the design team with a fairly free brief for how it develops this final model.

One insider told us: "Nissan is following a very different design path to the past. The 350Z and Murano SUV have shown people what the company is capable of, and those influences are set to spread across the brand's more mainstream models. Both driver involvement and visual appeal will appear in every future Nissan."

Inside, the Sport Concept is close to production trim - the general layout of the dashboard and the curved centre tunnel will remain the same. The central console will use the same orange backlighting and colour screen that's visible in our pictures. The cabin is very similar to that

of the Nissan Tiida, a five-door family hatch on sale in America. It won't come to Europe as bosses don't want it to steal sales from the Tone.

Key to the newcomer's appeal will be a performance version, which is set to go head-to-head with rivals such as the Honda Civic Type R, Vauxhall Astra VXR and Ford's Focus ST. Building on the sporting image of the 350Z, it should be a proper performance car. It's based on a chassis designed to offer similar levels of grip and driver involvement to that of the coupé, and will be powered by a high-revving four-cylinder engine developing in excess of 200bhp.

As well as harking back to the popular Almera GTi, the Sport Concept could well rejuvenate the GTi-R badge, which has not been used since the Nissan Sunny version was withdrawn in 1994. Unlike that car, it won't be four-wheel drive, instead offering traction to the front wheels only.

As well as the hot model, less dramatic versions of the Sport Concept are expected to be sold in the UK, although the car's name has yet to be revealed. The Almera badge could remain, but a new name is being considered to avoid association with the uninspiring current model. Following news of the arrival of Volkswagen's sporty Golf GTD, and the availability of acclaimed diesel engines from partner Renault, there's speculation a hot oil-burner would arrive later.

Whatever happens, it's likely Nissan will follow a similar trend to that established by Vauxhall with its recently launched Astra Sport Hatch - in that the three-door model will not be sold in entry-level trim with a small engine, but only made available in higher, performance-oriented specifications.
