prozac, talk is cheap... if you are the owner.. And you spend so much to mod the car.. you think you will let them hantam the car to get 1/4miles time? Or put it on dyno and rev till red line?

and bear in mind nothing is safe... while shooting this if the engine blown.. Bill under the mad or the owner?

Mag? Wah RM7something for one mag and feature a few car in a volume.. is a GT-R blown the engine.. got to pay back the GT-R.. how?

Which mag dunno about tht.. but the problem is with the owner too.. Some not wantting people to know they 1/4miles time.. cause still need to carry makan in the after dawn scene.. (You should know what i mean right.. not to be so clear la.. cause we dunno who is watching here0

I believe there're still many people're willing to test their cars. Spec-R, a Taiwan magagine, features lots of drag cars results by its readers. But they prodive proper equipment for those readers to test their car. I think everyone loves free test( 0-100km/h, 1/4 result) while seeing your car in a magazine.

So one of the magazine stuffs contacted my friend. If my friend wanna get his car featured in the magazine, he has to pay some amount of money + hotel.

I say, fuck that, let them have no material to publish.

arent they are support by advertisment fees? wat a shame

actually, i think that Traffic has done a good job, but have to wait for 2 months in order to get a copy, and its really tough to get one...
i had bought almost quite a number of traffic magz even though some screenshots were featured in ZTH..
however, i still showed my support to the magz, it has brilliant pictures...
Glad to know that you guys are accepting feedbacks and suggestions also..

But, there is still room for improvement for Traffic..

hmmm.... dat's pretty bad..... owners pay fr all expenses to b featured in d mag, mag gets frm advertisers n buyers of d mag.... looks like a win / win situation to me...

The mod market in Malaysia is very small.

80% of souped up cars in Malaysia are either Proton or Honda.

People get tired of reading Proton VR4s/EVOs/GSRs and Honda VTECs

Hypertune and Traffic tries to put alittle variety (reviews, etcs)

Unlike in Thailand, moded cars consist of Toyotas, Nissans, Mitsu, Mazdas and Hondas. The market size in Thailand is WAY much bigger.

If have any chance to see Thai based C.A.R. magazine, their content is very colorful (literally) and much variety

definitely 200% agree wif u...

we need more variety! not more n more local cars being featured...

we WANT more variety! More modified continentals, n american cars! Less local cars please...

Then let the owner do the test/dyno, but using standardized equipment supplied by the magazine. If the owner is scared his engine will blow, even with a simple 0-100, 1/4 mile or dyno, then the question is, how many people want to read about unreliable modifications that could blow their own engine?

Like you said, talk is cheap, but unfortunately, that's what I see being printed in most local mod mags. Yes it's not easy in the local magazine scene, but as consumers, are we supposed to sympathize and donate money for unattractive articles? I believe that's one main argument in this discussion.

Actually, it's not just about car testing too. Magazines can also test manufacturer products to see if their claims hold true, instead of just ranting and raving like some extended advertorial. By using standardized objective/scientific testing I'm sure they'll see a growing fanbase. Perhaps the issue here is that local publications see advertising as the bigger source of income rather than their end customers. Therefore, they may fear that objective testing will anger their advertisers thus losing their biggest revenue.

If need to be so secret for cari makan, then no need to publish their car's ingredients to the whole of M'sia lah. Unless somebody wants to make their car known and accept challenges nationwide, that is :D

Ok time to resume work. Hope local mags will get better from our feedback. Cheers!

would definitely want to see more contis' being modded published in local car mags....

Who knows, if more contis are featured, perhaps the value of contis will also increase? Readers might be interested (and have more confidence) to buy a conti for modding. Demand might go up.

eh, if the value of continentals increase, how would that equate to more modders using them?

But yeah, I agree with the more confidence part. At the very least they would know there are decent parts out there for their ride

Well, modders can buy a conti cheap2 now, but as the demand gets higher, value also goes up, no? Sounds like a chicken and egg thing. Maybe no price increase but resale value will be more stable due to demand.

ok, I'm not arguing. Just trying to clarify your point.

that's the part I don't understand. If the resale value holds, we as modders won't be able to find good bargins anymore. I mean cars from the mid 90s are the current crop in my opinion. But if the value holds for the newer cars, there won't be much choices left in the years to come.

Of course, if you mean people are more willing to buy and play with continentals because they won't have to suffer so much come resale, then I understand completely.

Every1 in Traffic r very open minded n every1'z feedbackz r important to them to improve da mag. If U find it hard to get da mag outside, U can pm me n arrange to get yr mag thru me.

Hehehehe tell tat to da car owner. V of course certainly wud b honour n happy to featured a car from zero to hero but then in another hand, v cant do anythin if da car owner refuse, shy or wat-so-eva. Then v hafta turn to another car. Mebe tat car wasnt tat gr8 compare to a monster car (letz say 80% monster) but at least da owner is opened bout his car ingredient to b publised. But once da mag is out, U guyz complain da car is terrible. Aiseh...U c...v hope to satisfy every1 but v cant. There r sum thingz which r out of our hand.
