Exhaust mod on perdana v6

my suggestion for auto, just use back the std piping, remove the cat con & just change the muffler...
not too big not too small just moderate. like tanabe medallion.

One more doubt I have is, our pv6 engine is 6a12 DOHC right? Why is it only 148hp? Which is the SOHC 6A12 engine..

Peak torque — 191 N·m (141 lb·ft) at 4000 rpm

source : Mitsubishi 6A1 engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At this source it states that the DOHC engine has 170+ hp.
Could it be our auto tranny eats alot of hp, or the facts on this wiki is wrong?
Anyone ever dyno a manual pv6 manual transmission before?

Perdana's 6A12 DOHC is only 145hp coz after the engine goes for emission regulation, the power drops to 145hp.
u can still get the 170hp 6A12 DOHC with halfcut engines..
for a better info on what specs for Mitsubishi cars, search cars-directory (wiki only have little info).
u can see the later spec galant/eterna/emeraude have this lower figure.
its not the gb eats a lot of hp coz the power figure is from crank or flywheel, not from wheel/tyre.
only with dyno machine we can get wheel hp, which is normally deduct 20-30% powerloss at the drivetrain/transmission..
usually manual gb have lower % of powerloss compared to auto gb..

an extra 10-20% from std hp le...
by that u need to install
1. open pod air filter + CAI
2. iridium plugs
3. 3 core plug cables
4. hotbits exhaust system.
5. SAFC
6 etc..

with that mods, maybe u able to achieve 170hp on engine lo......

stock Perdana with 145hp will get about 105-110hp on wheel (whp).
so, 170hp on engine is like 125-130whp.
with some light mods (like Danz said), and piggyback (like E-manage or AFC Neo or SAFC or etc...), can get that figure la..
u are on manual gb summore, so less powerloss on transmission..

1.I got an open pod air filter, i dont have a modded cold air intake
2. currently using iridium spark plugs.
3.The 3 core plug cables, do you mean grounding cable? yeah have those.
4. Whole exhaust system moded to 2.3, just the extractor is stock
5. will be getting the m7 soon.

So does the cold air intake really increases noticeable performance? and how much does it roughly cost sir?

3 core spark plug cables...

the cold air intake bout rm20 only bro.....just cut a hole in your side bumper & route the flexible hose to your air filter.

well i reckon u can get at least 130whp then..

A mechanic in sunway was saying my air filter is small and could cause a slight bottle neck, judging by this picture, do you think the size of this air filter is small and may cause power loss?? My current air filter is on this picture
